Centennial Park (Gay Beat)

Centenial lodge student accommodation charges additional fees per week on top of the rent ($200), totally scamming students and travellers. Check your lease agreement before you sign, or rather, walk away.

This lodge has a strange vibe when you arrive. It is on a busy road and has a small hallway with rooms off to either side. You must walk through an open office to get to your room each time. The room has everything you need and is good quality. It is small and narrow with an upstairs bedroom and small bathroom. It is very clean. Nice decor. No aircon or heating (fan on stand and blow heater). No restaurants or shops in very close walking distance except maybe the cafes in the beautiful centennial park across the road. Good location if you have a car and on street parking available. Be aware that they want $250 if you lose the key (seriously????) and any extras you must pay for as in extra towels etc so be aware. Overall it was a good and comfortable stay with good rates compared to other places.Probably the only other thing I would have liked would be a TV upstairs you could watch in bed (there is one downstairs.Very good communication via text with the management.

I booked long term rental here as it looked a nice quiet area and I would be alone so wanted to feel safe. I was very pleased with my choice the contact during booking was excellent and even though I was arriving early morning staff were readily available looking for me to assist which was excellent after a 24 hour flight. The room was all I needed fully functional kitchen with upstairs bedroom. Staff fully explained all items as well as there being a detailed folder of local information, tips and help easily found in the room. I liked that staff just left me alone to do as I wanted but were readily available if I needed - they did check all was OK on a regular basis but I was free to do my own thing. The rooms are comfortable and plenty of storage space and I would recommend.

Add always a terrific community resource even when it is wet. Extremely busy on Saturday. Can be C hard to find a park. Great family catch up place

Beautiful old garden park situated in the heart of Oxford street. It has multiple lakes and horse tracks. The beauty of the ancient trees is phenomenal 😍

Lovely spot for bird watching. Plenty of benches and seats to sit and relax or have a picnic at, some large ponds and greens birds frequent

Beautiful park, good walking track. The ponds are very nice too. Enjoyed a nice sunset walk.

Great place to walk, run or just sit. Only gripe is that for a park this size and urban location the outdoor gym equipment is severely lacking and almost impossible to use if anyone else is there. With some thought around placement of new equipment the park has potential for a world class fitness trail.

It's so peaceful.
