Hotel Maurya Patna

Hotel Maurya has stood on the south side of Gandhi Maidan since 1978 and calls itself Bihar's first five-star hotel. It has three restaurants (the Vaishali coffee shop, Spice Court and Bollywood Treats), an outdoor pool that listings describe as seasonal, a gym and a salon. The building shows its age in places, but the location is hard to beat: Golghar and the maidan are a short walk away, and the station about 1.5 km. Bihar is a dry state, so there's no alcohol. Mainstream hotel, not a gay venue.
