Mangrove Bay Hotel

Excellent location, spacious and very clean room. Very good restaurant next door. Highlyrecommended.

The rooms have a wonderful view of the harbor, and the staff are so helpful and always smiling. This is my second time here.

How does one contact this hotel? I've emailed the gmail with no response. The website doesn't work. I know it exists because I have friends who have been there- but booking a room is difficult. So ... does anyone have a contact that will be read?

Very impressive stay with the lagoon view , Also greenery mountain view of Pohnpei .And have Dive shop just at the ground floor, And you can see many colorful fish just front at the balcony

I stayed at Mangrove Hotel in October 2025. The friendlyness of the staff sticks out very positively. The hotel is directly at the water. I had a room in the first floor with a balcony overlooking the lush lagoon. Air condition worked well. Next door is a restaurant. The hotel sells drinks, chocolate and crisps at the reception. And they offer car rental (there is no public bus system at Pohnpei). Up at the main road is also a small store where you can also find food and grocery. The hotel area is nicely kept. I enjoyed the place a lot and can recommend it. In my opinion the pricing is fair (120 USD per night in 10/2025).

As far hotels go on Pohnpei, this is as good as it gets. Just go into it recognizing you are in Micronesia and not Hawaii. Very minor gripes would all be associated with the inherent qualities of a less-developed island nation. Think less than ideal cleanliness and the potential to room with insects/lizards. Staff were very friendly and the views were unbeatable.

Rooms with balconies at the edge of the water. The place has a certain dive/fish /surf vibe. Car rental available (they just hand you the key). Dive shop arranges dives and snorkel trips. Book your room ahead of time.

Had the best time here, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Pohnpei. Large room with two double beds (one soft, one firm). Spacious bathroom too. Views from the balcony are beautiful and if you get too hot when sitting out there, the AC works very well inside. Staff are very friendly. You've got the Pohnpei surf club on site and the Mangrove Bay bar across the car park. Kayaks are free and the hotel offers car hire.

The hotel was clean, had good air conditioning, and a comfortable bed. The front desk was helpful and arranged a taxi for me. The free airport shuttle was appreciated. It's a shame that breakfast wasn't included. I ended up eating at the on-site restaurant, which was a bit pricey. The mirror-like view of the bay from the room was calming. The front desk staff allowed me to fish, but the owner asked me to stop when I did. The room rate was a little on the high side, but it's a great hotel.
