このイベントについて
Manioro is a festival for takatāpui, LGBTQIA+ and MVPFAFF+ people in Hawke's Bay, with a focus on Māori and Pacific rainbow communities. The name means to make a noise or cause a disturbance. It is run by Nevertheless, a Hastings mental health charity, and takes place at Toitoi in Hastings, about 20 km south of Napier.
The first edition in 2023 drew more than 1,000 people over two days, according to Hawke's Bay Today. The 2024 festival ran 29 February to 2 March. The 2026 edition opened on 14 May at Toitoi and included a Rainbow+ excellence awards and gala night on 15 May.
The festival has not run on a fixed annual date, and the next edition has not been announced at the time of writing. The programme has mixed free sessions with ticketed ones. Check the Nevertheless website for dates.
