Gay Bars & Clubs in Helsinki
Helsinki's gay nightlife is small: one club, about six bars and a handful of queer nights in mainstream clubs. It's spread over the city centre, the Punavuori side of Kamppi and Kallio, and you can walk between all of it in about 20 minutes. Facts below come from MyHelsinki, Time Out Helsinki, the venues' own sites and Google listings, checked in October 2026.
City centre

Hercules
Hercules is the gay club, on the third floor of the Makkaratalo building at the corner of Keskuskatu and Kaivokatu. It opened in 2000 and has been at this address since 2021. Nights start with karaoke and move on to pop and Finnish hits, with drag and themed parties at weekends. Google lists it open Wednesday and Thursday from 21:00 and Friday and Saturday from 16:00, until 04:30.
Mann's Street
Mann's Street, or Manssi, is a gay karaoke bar at Mannerheimintie 12 A that MyHelsinki dates to 1998. The crowd is older and loyal. It stays open until 04:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Punavuori and Kamppi
Street Pride Bar
Street Pride Bar calls itself "the people's queer bar" and is now at Uudenmaankatu 16 (older listings give Malminrinne 1). It runs drag, karaoke, bingo and quiz nights and is open every day until 05:00, according to Google.

Room BLVD
Room Blvd at Bulevardi 26 is a calmer wine and cocktail bar with a summer terrace. Travel Gay lists it as a gay bar, and the Leather Social Helsinki meet-ups are held here.
Kallio and Sörnäinen
Pub Fairytale
Pub Fairytale on Helsinginkatu is a classic gay pub: ring the doorbell, and expect regulars, bingo and quizzes. Open daily 16:00–02:00.
Struts
Struts on Fleminginkatu is a small queer cocktail bar with Queereoke karaoke and drag nights, open Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 or 18:00.
H₂O₂
H₂O₂ Bar is a pop-up gay bar at Kaikukatu 4, in the Kaiku club building. Its own site calls it temporary. It opens Friday and Saturday from 21:00 to 04:30, age 20+.
Queer nights in mainstream clubs
Much of the younger queer scene runs as nights rather than venues: I Feel Love (disco and pop) at Kaiku, Kväärinpäin queer stand-up at Mascot in Kallio, and occasional lesbian bar nights at Bar Tÿpo. Dates change monthly and are mostly posted on Instagram.
Closed
DTM (Don't Tell Mama), Finland's best-known gay club since 1992, closed for good after its operator filed for bankruptcy on 12 June 2025. Café Cavalier and FlyAF have also closed. Bar Loose on Annankatu is a rock bar, not a gay bar.
When to go
Bars fill after 22:00 and Hercules after midnight, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays. July is quiet outside Pride week, when many locals are at their summer cottages. Bring ID: many places set an age limit of 20 at weekends.
