Neues Ufer

Neues Ufer is a small gay café-bar on Hauptstraße in Schöneberg. It opened in the early 1970s as Anderes Ufer and is one of the oldest gay bars in Berlin. David Bowie lived a few doors down at Hauptstraße 155 in the late 1970s and is said to have drunk here. During the day it is a quiet place for coffee or a beer, and it gets busier and more social in the evening. It is a neighbourhood bar, not a party venue. It is south of the Nollendorfplatz bar cluster, so you will need a short U-Bahn ride or a 15-minute walk to get there.
