Beaver Collective is a queer cafe-bar in Votanikos, just west of Gazi, with a lesbian-leaning crowd that sets it apart from the mostly male gay bars nearby. By day it runs as a cafe; in the evening it hosts quiz nights, DJ parties and community events. It is one of the few spaces in Athens built around queer women. Gazi and Keramikos, the city's main gay nightlife strip, are a short walk away, so it works as a first stop before a longer night. The programme changes week to week, so check their social media for what is on.

It's not just a store that's community-friendly. It's a store where the community comes together or organizes. Discussions, quizzes, karaoke and a bunch of activities that help us get to know each other, exchange knowledge and have fun. All this with a very good and kind staff, nice amenities and good prices. We need more places like beaver 🩷
