MIT - Movimento Identita Trans

MIT (Movimento Identità Trans) is Italy's oldest transgender organisation. It was founded in 1979 and is based at Via Polese 15 in central Bologna. It runs advocacy, legal support and health services for trans people. In 1994 it opened a trans-run health consultorio, widely described as the first of its kind in the world. It is a service and rights organisation, not a social venue. Its main users are trans people looking for counselling, medical referrals, legal help or peer support. Hours and services change, so check mit-italia.it before visiting.
