Parco Virgiliano is a public park at the end of the Posillipo hill. Its terraces look out over the Bay of Naples to Capri, Ischia, Nisida and Vesuvius, and in the daytime it is a family park with joggers and couples at the viewpoints. It is also listed as an outdoor cruising area, mainly in the quieter wooded sections away from the main terraces. The park is well out of the city centre. A taxi from Chiaia is the simplest way to get there, and buses run up Posillipo. Opening hours of the gates can change, so do not count on staying after dark. Be discreet: this is a busy mainstream park, and the cruising is low-key rather than obvious.
