Malo Glitter Bar is an openly queer bar on Via Fanfulla da Lodi in Pigneto, the bar-heavy, slightly scruffy district east of Termini. The programme moves around through the week: drag, disco and karaoke nights, comedy, poetry readings and small exhibitions. The crowd tends to be younger and more gender-diverse than the one around the Colosseum's Gay Street, and plenty of it is local. It opens Wednesday to Sunday from 19:00 until 02:00, and prices sit at the cheap end. Pigneto's pedestrian strip is a few steps away, so it's easy to fold into a night of hopping between bars. Events change week to week, so check its social channels for what's on.
