Piccolo Mondo, also called El Souk, is a small late-night disco near the Accademia bridge in Dorsoduro. It's a mainstream mixed club and gay-friendly, not a gay venue. It gets listed because Venice's historic centre has no gay bar. Expect a small dance floor, a cover charge and an international tourist crowd. It opens Friday and Saturday from 23:00 until 4am. For a proper gay night out, locals take the train to Padua, about 30 to 40 minutes away.

Stumbled upon this place on a wander through beautiful Venice this week. How charming to happen upon this mysterious and inviting door while meandering cobblestone streets?! We were wondering if there was a secret knock to get in, but didn't have the chance to find out because unfortunately they weren't open while we were there, but hope to visit next time!
