Shelter Bar

Went there to have a good time, instead got crap music and nasty staff. Not planing to go back anytime soon

Came here for a night out with my sister and the bar staff were so welcoming and friendly. Great music, music videos and art. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great gay bar.

We visited quite early on a Thursday for a couple of drinks- bar started to get busier about 10pm. Liked the music and there was some great art work.

We went to Shelter 3x during our recent trip. Everyone was very friendly, especially Rodrigo. Very laid back, down to earth people. We even bought t-shirts! Always fun to watch a movie when using the bathroom!

We ordered an Absolute and a Beefeater and tonic (€16). The barman poured nearly half a litre of tonic from a large bottle into the two drinks. The tonic was completely flat. They were undrinkable so we handed them back and I said it to the barman who simple shrugged his shoulders. We left! It’s not difficult to make a vodka or a gin and tonic but somehow they can make dreadful ones in Shelter! Avoid.

Unfortunately when we went to this bar, it was an off night and also probably too early. I think the thing we learned is that no one is out before 11pm or 12am. While we were there, there were only about 3 other people there around 10:00pm. The bartenders were really nice however and it was a smaller bar that looked like it could be fun some other time.

For us the best gay bar we visited in Lisbon. The staff were fantastic, the DJ on Saturday night great. A more mature crowd, but lively and fun. We will return.

The location of the bar itself is great and it isn't expensive. The staff was pleasant, although I wasn't a fan of one of the bartenders. I find it unprofessional to be frequently on the phone with headphone and speaking arabic during the shift, and worse, making video calls, which can easily record us clients while we would prefer to keep our privacy. I personally found it quite disrespectful.

Shelter bar is the best! Cute and fun space and atmosphere with an incredible staff. I was visiting solo to Lisbon from NYC and this bar and its staff, especially Amadeo, made my time in Lisbon even more fabulous. At Shelter, you will meet Lisbon locals and international travelers to share stories, relax over good drinks and have a blast. I recommend this bar to any visitor to Lisbon.

Not very helpfull Not intrested boring no Wonder there was nobody in the bar i try one more time on Friday and see what’s happening if tey only wake up Wehen is busy

Spent two evenings at Shelter Bar last week. Amadeo and Sebastian were great bartenders and DJ. Made us feel comfortable and welcome. Loved the play list. Easy to chat with both locals and out of town guests. Highly recommend.

Cold beer, drag show and bingo... Fun guaranteed.

A real find on our trip to Lisbon. Great background music, louder on weekends for dancing. The atmosphere is very pleasant and safe. Everything is well-maintained, and the restrooms are clean. They have a good selection of beers and cocktails, all of which are good quality and reasonably priced. It's not overcrowded like some other places where you couldn't even move. The owners, Amadeo, Sebastián, and Joao, are incredibly kind, friendly, and above all, good people. Highly recommended for starting your afternoon or evening. A 10 out of 10 in every way.

Bartender is friendly, clean club, for a Tuesday it was a good place to talk and make connections with other people.

If you are looking for a great fun Bear bar. This is definitely it. Bars in Lisbon are tiny. This bar however is a great size. The DJ’s are incredible and the staff and owners… I couldn’t say enough great things about them! Also, very easy on the eyes if I do say so myself! Even if you are not a bear stop by. It’s just a really fun and easy crowd. Thank you Shelter for making our night out an amazing one! Definitely will be back! ❤️

Best Espresso Martini in Lisbon. Melhor Espresso Martini em Lisboa. Friendly atmosphere. Nicest bartenders. We ended up going here multiple nights on our trip.

A beautiful and “colourful” place in the middle of Barrio Alto, with good vibe music, lively and lovely staff (grin grin) . Easy going and everyone is welcome! Even MOI…. Xxx

I was a frequent customer of the old Bar, I must say that I am more centrally located near many other places, so much more choice, I find it much more inconvenient to reach for those who have walking difficulties as there is a climb and then a very steep descent, you cannot get there directly with a taxi or a car, the atmosphere is always top and the staff are always very kind, it's a shame where it is located
