City Grill Covaci

The food was great - we haven’t been here in about two years (but I think they changed the chef;-)). The whole experience was amazing. We had beef salad (sharing), micii lui Iordache (my husband ordered 6;)), and chicken snitzel. All ended with and affogato (buy the bar needs to improve). We noticed they have a brand new menu, with pictures this time around. A nice quiet evening . À judos to Mihaela, our waiter, and to the Nepali gentleman behind the grill. We will come back soon.

Had the traditional cabbage rolls and polenta. Just so so… the polenta seemed to be sitting all day. The service was also not so good.

The food was amazing! We ordered the Family Grill for three people, but honestly, it could easily have fed four. The portions were very generous and everything was delicious. The food arrived quickly as well. We were very happy with our experience!

In the old town a little outside the center for grilled chop, potatoes, sausage, and burger. Luckily we had asked before for the meats to be cooked well because the ones we saw from the adjacent tables were not. Our food was satisfying in quantity, good taste, and well presented. I would say that for a tourist area, the restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The prices are a little high and the service is perfect.

Really enjoyed the food and service was good too. Our fri3s were Luke warm but the meat was hot - the server replaced the fries right away. We sat inside due to the prevalence of smokers outside and the atmosphere inside was nice as we could watch them cook on the impressive grill.

My wife and I dropped by City Grill Covaci in Bucharest for lunch and had a very good experience overall. We ordered the Family Grill platter alongside the corn ribs, and the portion size was massive, far too much food for just two of us, but perfect if you come with a big appetite! The highlights were undoubtedly the mici de Medgidia and the cheese sausages (cârnați cu cașcaval), both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. The entire meal came to around 300 LEI with water, which felt like decent value given the generous spread. Our waitress, Steluța, provided good, reliable service throughout. A solid stop if you are looking for authentic, hearty Romanian grilled dishes in the heart of Bucharest Old Town!

The location is just into the Old Town, so very convenient for the centre of Bucharest; the atmosphere varies during the day, from quite quiet to very busy, but the service, although irregular at times (depending on who you get) was generally very efficient. The food is very reasonably priced with the lunchtime special (a starter (usually a large bowl of soup) and main course being 38.5 Lei (£6 - 7)); the menu for this is in Romanian, but my waitress was very helpful in explaining what each of the dishes were. I had to wait a while on my 1st visit, to be served, but later times I was served almost immediately. Value for money is very good, even by Romanian standards; if you order from the week-end/evening menu, prices are more expensive, but still good. 1 lunch-time, they had a large party in, and only 1 table was available, but they accommodated me, and I did not have to wait any longer than usual for my food. Very good all round!

We had an outstanding meal at this comfortable restaurant located right in Old Town. Service was a little slow. The dining room was beautiful. The food was outstanding. We split a chicken skewer and Greek salad. I also had a beer and we had a bottle of water. The bill was around 120 lei.

Great food- I highly recommend the steak and fries! The service was excellent, Georgiana, our waitress was great!
