The Dolder Grand

Dolder Grand is situated on a hill above Zurich and has hosted past guests such as Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, and the Rolling Stones. Filled with a collection of modern art, it serves as a second home for the Swiss upper class and wealthy international travelers. Despite its simple name, 'The Restaurant' is a culinary masterpiece by Chef Heiko Nieder, having earned two Michelin stars and numerous awards. He frequently welcomes renowned chefs from around the world for pop-up events and special dining partnerships. Dishes such as beef brisket with escargot, horseradish, and cabbage, and 'Chili con Carne' made with tomatoes, coffee, and green bean ice cream, showcase culinary creativity and innovation, while one of Switzerland's finest wine cellars provides the perfect pairing.

We checked into The Dolder Grand the day before our wedding and had an unforgettable time there. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The service was first-class, and all the staff were exceptionally courteous, friendly, and attentive. We felt completely at ease and were able to fully enjoy our special day. For travellers who value top-tier luxury, private art galleries, and elite spa facilities—and do not mind being a 10-minute drive outside the city centre—it is arguably the best hotel in Switzerland.

Probably one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at. The new section of the hotel is completely redone. The architecture is genius that integrates the old and new. Everything is automated in the rooms. The bathroom is exquisite with an amazing two person tub and 8 head shower - what an experience. The breakfast is spectacular. It was the only meal we ate in the hotel but we did enjoy drinks and snacks by the pool and in the different bar areas. The hotel staff was very attentive and everything seemed effortless. I forgot to mention the hotel is also a museum and located next to the Dolder Forest which we did hikes and e-bikes. Just a lot of fun.
