Mermerli Beach

Mermerli is a small paid beach in a cove below the cliffs of Kaleiçi, Antalya's old town, near the old harbour. You reach it down a staircase through the Mermerli restaurant. There is an entry fee, which usually includes a sunbed. It is a mainstream public beach with a mixed crowd, though it has a reputation as relaxed and popular with gay visitors. The restaurant above serves food and drinks with harbour views, and the beach is an easy walk from Kaleiçi's small hotels. It fills up in summer. Turkey has no laws against same-sex relations, but Pride events are banned and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric is official. Keep public affection discreet.
