I loved this hotel, our room in particular was a dog friendly room it was huge with like a lounge area then thru an arch into the bedroom. There is a large 50" flat screen in both of the areas and free parking too which is a rare find at a seaside resort. The location is just perfect bang across the road from the beautiful beach, several bars and restaurants close by and 5 mins from Stack food hall too. We ate at the Asian Restaurant in the hotel for our evening meal and can honestly say this was the nicest meal I have had for a long time, the menu was amazing we struggled to chose as it all sounded amazing and tasted even better was well worth the price. We didnt have time to use the pool and spa but will definitely be back again for a longer stay. Cant fault the hotel at all loved everything about it, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Nice enough hotel, a bit tired now, location is super though. if you ask for extras (like pillow, towel for pool, and extra milk) they’ll give it to you no problem, just don’t expect them to have thought of things for you.. 😆

Ive stayed here on multiple occasions over the past six years The hotel is in a fabulous seafront location and the rooms are always very clean I've dealt with Catherine (the reception manager) on several occasions and find her both very friendly and professional Catherine always listens to our requirements and feedback, which makes us feel reassured and confident to continue to stay at The Grand, Sunderland She is an asset too both the hotel and brand We have also previously dealt with Charlotte (customer service manager) who is also a fabulous asset to the hotel and brand The entire hotel team (all departments) make your experience special Thank you, Catherine, Charlotte and the team at The Grand Hotel, Sunderland

Unfortunately we only stayed 3 nights! Oh how I wish it could’ve been more. We don’t get away much so I’m so pleased I chose the Grand! The room 207 was bigger than expected and spotless, I had to ask for another pillow but that’s just me! The leisure club was all free to use and so clean, well managed & maintained. Car park is massive and free for the duration of stay. Breakfast was delicious and cheaper if you book it the night before at reception. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. I can’t wait to stay again! Thank you

This hotel is in a nice location BUT the staff are very rude especially the manager cheeky and rude and did not want to help us 13 people stayed here with my group the rooms and toilets was horrible bed bugs under the matress and shit stains in the toilet towels smelt of damp overall a very nasty hotel to stay even for a few hours. The staff do not have a clue on how to provide a good customer service. I would not reccomend a homeless person to sleep there honestley sleeping in a bus stop is better atleast you wont get bit by bed bugs.

Love this hotel great location helpfull and friendly staff spa staff rude but everything else amazing when on a budget very clean
