Viajero Buenos Aires Hostel (ex-Axel building)

I was supposed to spend a week there but after just 2 nights I had to cancel my booking because I was really disappointed. The pool on the 4th floor I was looking forward to usei had this lubricant film on it because no one took care of the water, the bathroom in my dorm couldn't be locked and in the kitchen were pots and pans for maybe one person. So you have to be lucky no one else is cooking when you wanna cook. It might has been a great hostel 5 years ago. But meanwhile you can see that it would need a renovation or some new couches. Nevertheless the staff was awesome!

James and Ariel served me at the bar and they were wonderful. I always felt at home. The whole staff is really friendly and they include you in everything! I highly recommend this place 🫶🏽😍

They have different activities and a good atmosphere.

Beautiful hostel. It's huge. It has all the amenities. Very well-equipped. Very clean in the common areas. Good bathrooms. Hot water 24/7. Games and recreation room. Two swimming pools, one of which is indoors. Excellent service. They organize events all the time.

A wonderful experience, especially because of the people who work there: Ariel, Pauli, and James at the bar were incredible; and Daniel, Caro, Geronimo, Clara, Joaquim, and Daniela at reception were so lovely. I can't thank them enough for making my experience in Buenos Aires so wonderful. They always find a solution and try to help! They host social events every day, all day long (all organized by Dante, who unfortunately is a River Plate fan).

Before traveling, I heard about this hostel talking to Argentinians about how famous it is in the city. I stayed here for almost a month because my experience was so wonderful, especially because of the people who work there: Ariel, Pauli, and James at the bar were incredible; and Daniel (the manager), Caro, Geronimo, Clara, Joaquim, and Daniela at reception were so lovely. I can't thank them enough for making my experience in Buenos Aires so wonderful. They always find a solution for everything and try to help you! The rooms are very clean, spacious, and the bathrooms are tidy and modern, always with windows for fresh air. There are social events every day, all day long (all organized by Dante, who unfortunately is a River Plate fan), and in the afternoons, they're also open to people from outside the city, like on Thursdays, to meet more Argentinians. There are also many people from all over who don't speak Spanish, so there's English for those who need it. The common areas are very large; you have to enjoy the sun outside by the pool.

Love this place. Very well located, nice crew, shared rooms ok, they have a lot of paid tours so you can do different things every day. The city isn't welcoming, I regret spending 5 days, 3 is enough, there's nothing much to do, the night live is very restricted to few bars, even in downtown after 8pm the streets are empty, which is weird for me. But about the hostel, I highly recommend and would go back.

Great place to stay in San Telmo, with a varied schedule and a good selection of activities.

Very good, excellent atmosphere. Comfortable, Carolina's service is exemplary. Good music. Excellent location.
