Tierra Atacama Hotel & Spa

It was one of the best all-inclusive hotel experiences my partner and I have ever had. Carol, Cris, and the entire hotel team were incredibly kind and always made sure our stay was perfect. I highly recommend it.

Today is my last day at this hotel, and I can say it was one of the best travel experiences I could have ever had. I especially want to highlight the great warmth of the staff, Carol and Chris were very attentive! The waiters and bartenders were also excellent. Everything is designed for you to enjoy yourself to the fullest without worrying about a thing. The food is top-notch, and the excursions included with the hotel are incredible—all the must-do activities if you take this trip. I would recommend it without a doubt! Thank you, Tierra Atacama!

This is one of the best hotels I have very stayed in- not just because of the stunning and relaxing setting, but because of the people who work there. They go out of their way to make guests feel at home. The excursions take you to some of the most beautiful spots on earth, the food and wine is stellar and the stargazing once in a lifetime. And all in recently renovated luxury. Special shout out to Carol who helped make our trip!

Tierra was a great property and very well run operation! Beautiful modern rooms, we stayed in a suite, which was stunning! Staff/team is universally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They pay attention to details and preferences, which is appreciated. And a particular recognition to Chris, the assistant manager, who was a truly gracious and welcoming person who went out of his way to greet and speak with you and make you feel part of their family! We would recommend this property without reservations and would absolutely stay here in the future! Also of note, we stayed at another “luxury” hotel in Atacama for a couple nights, which failed to even compare to Tierra, so if you are looking for a true luxury experience in Atacama, Tierra is the place to be!

Travelled with a group of 12 friends to Tierra Atacama in early May and we were completely blown away. The architecture and design is amazing with gorgeous views around every corner, all things you would expect of a hotel like this in the Atacama desert. But what makes this hotel TRULY standout is the staff. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed by an attentive and genuinely delightful staff of people who instantly make you feel welcome. I honestly don't know that I can think of a better experience that I've had from a hotel. They handle everything from planning excursions, meals, drinks, the works. They have amazing excursions to choose from and always a delicious meal and drink waiting when you're back. I want to especially thank Caterina, Violetta, Maria Jose, Valentina, and Carol for being so lovely and patient with our rowdy group of guys. And thanks for letting us add french fries to every meal! :) If you're looking for a hotel that'll feel like a home while you're staying, and want access to explore one of the most interesting landscapes in the world, this is your spot!

A wonderful experience at this recently renovated hotel. Beautiful grounds with trees and flowers. An outdoor pool and a spa with an indoor pool, hammam, sauna, and treatment rooms. The hotel is well located, just steps from downtown San Pedro de Atacama. A welcoming atmosphere with a fire lit every evening in the common areas. Spacious rooms with outdoor showers. High-quality dining with a varied menu that changes daily.

We stayed at Tierras Atacama and Patagonia property. Loved both, but this recent renovation really gave the Atacama property a new life. The food, cocktails, service, private guides, and the rooms and property itself were all amazing. Our villa was huge, with a lovely fireplace and private pool. As you walk to and from the room, they have lots of a fruiting trees around and we enjoyed picking figs and pomegranates as we pleased. I have so many positives to say, especially with my experience doing ultra luxury safaris - I mean it comes so close. Some feedback that the management should be aware of is that the Gardners kept walking into our villa pool area - we complained about it and they said it wouldn't happen again, but of course it did. Also the pool is frigid, but I understand electricity is a problem here

Over our four days in San Pedro, we took four excursions. They were all run by in-house guides/drivers. We had a Chilean named Sebastian, a college grad who had knowledge of geography, history, knew the names and heights of all the 15+ volcanoes nearby, all of the birds (important bc my husband is an avid birder). His knowledge was matched by his enthusiasm. We experienced a fantastic 4 day stay in a magical part of the world. It’s unlike anything we’ve seen before with 16000 foot snow capped volcanoes (active and puffing away), salt flats at 7500 feet with flocks of flamingos eating brine shrimp and a geyser field where we hiked at 14000 feet. We drove for miles without seeing other humans and very few vehicles. We were far outnumbered by wild llamas, donkeys and vicuñas. Amazing. The lodge was luxurious and beautifully fit into the surrounding countryside. I read that they reopened in March 2025 after a $20m renovation. They used beautiful building materials and a lovely design aesthetic that gives a relaxing atmosphere, especially after a long day of hiking or driving between sites. Endemic plants around the property are labeled and some are used to flavor the food. I used the small but adequate gym, but didn’t have a chance to go to the spa. The central area is lovely and a perfect place to unwind, meet other guests and have a drink. The bartender, also Sebastian, was inventing new and fun concepts each evening. Food was excellent, all three meals, since we ate all meals there. Lunch and dinner had several choices offered each day as well as a set list of entrees which were offered consistently. Portions were good, but not huge, we appreciated that. An exception to quantity was BBQ night where they featured a lamb grilled outdoors as well as some other food. We didn’t have room for dessert! Wines were excellent and local to Chile. Our room was beautifully appointed and so comfortable. We had a sitting area and a private outdoor plunge pool. Key to our experience was the questionnaire we filled out in advance for the team. I mentioned that my husband was a birder and they took that and a few of the other nuances into consideration as they planned our itinerary and our pairing with Sebastián as our guide. This planning was part of the success? Thank you to a very special and friendly staff who shared such a lovely part of the world with us.

The hospitality was top tier and you could tell everyone loved what they did. It felt like they anticipated our needs at all times, like setting a humidifier up during turn down or packing you a lunch on your way back to the airport. Little touches make a whole world of difference. The Atacama desert is beautiful, we have to come back for the Cactus Hike since it was the one everyone raved about. Guides were excellent. My issues were with the food, I own three restaurants and dined at all the top restaurants so I know a thing or two about this. The creative and classic menu both didn't work. Creative menu had too many flavours at once that it felt confused, the classic was simple but poorly cooked/executed. The BBQ night was great though. Another small piece of feedback is the yoga mats are no good (zero grip) and the sauna was not up to standards/heat level. Could only use the steam room.

10/10. We've stayed in high end resorts before but the level of service and food at Tierra Atacama was truly unmatched. The head chef Daniele is clearly aiming for the highest level. Absolutely incredible. We stayed 4 nights. The guatin valley excursion was my favorite. Loved the spa, too. Absolutely can't comprehend the comments of people who didn't like the food. There are two menus, one creative, one with classics like burger or steak. Both menus are executed at the highest level and we've been to plenty of michelin or top 50 restaurants. And the menu changes daily. World class.

We recently returned home from a wonderful trip to Chile and Tierra Atacama was the highlight for both families. Everything here is magical. The service is warm, friendly and efficient with everyone dedicated to making everyone’s stay fantastic. The food and drinks were all delicious and special requests always accommodated. The guides and excursions were all also absolutely wonderful. There was nothing to fault in our 4-night stay - we all had a spectacular time. Highly recommend for any special holiday.
