Carrington Houseは、Cherry GroveとFire Island Pinesの間の林に位置する、Fire Islandで最も古いビーチハウスの一つとして現存しています。国立公園システム内でLGBTQとの関連性により認定された唯一の住居です。1912年頃に建てられ、1927年にニュージャージー州のPaper Mill Playhouseの共同創設者である演劇監督Frank Carringtonによって購入されました。彼は当時めずらしかったゲイアーティストのための隠れ家へとこの家を改装しました。Truman Capoteはここで『ティファニーで朝食を』に取り組んでおり、Lincoln Kirsteinもゲストの一人でした。

I remember the former owner, this Cropsey fellow. Held out for years and never wanted to sell the place. Then he disappeared. seems creepy but worth the hike.
