Nice walk
A great place to get some decent views of the city.
Super gay friendly at all times. Not the best for families after dark.
Great spot for a daytime hike to enjoy the view. It is in a neighborhood of houses, so most out of town visitors leave before sunset.
Buena Vista Park is one of San Francisco’s hidden gems. The peaceful trails, towering trees, and scenic viewpoints make it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. It’s perfect for a quiet walk, a morning hike, or simply taking in the beautiful city views. The park is clean, well maintained, and has a calm atmosphere that feels like an escape from the busy streets. A fantastic spot for both locals and visitors. Highly recommended!
Put on your hill legs and go to town here.
We love this place.
Great spot , way more chill than expected. Trails go up pretty high but it never feels too intense , just steady climb. You can loop around on all these circular paths and cut through smaller connectors , so you end up exploring a lot without even trying
This is a lovely park up the hill from the Castro and Duboce Triangle areas. It lies on a slope and provides splendid views of downtown, plus many neighborhoods. Can be cool and breezy. Lovely apartments and houses all around in an upscale neighborhood.
One more park in the city; Walking through it is uncomfortable since most of its paths are uphill, but it has beautiful views of the city.
Don't let the name fool you: the views from Buena Vista Park are not the best in the city: too many trees and plants stand in your way to make nice pictures. But it's a nice stroll through the park, though. Very quiet, fresh air, nice trees. But no views.
We went to Buena Vista Park. It is a nice green park with lots of trees. It is in the Haight-Ashbury and Buena Heights districts. It is the oldest park in San Francisco and has been a park since 1867. It was first named Hill Park. It was renamed to its current name in 1894.
This journey is not for the unfit because it’s a long way to the top, and fairly steep inclines. That said, if you are able to reach the pinnacle the views over San Francisco on a clear day are amazing and worth the effort. If this park sounds too hard, I’d suggest Alamo Square instead, and this one overlooks the Painted Ladies so you see those and still get good views.
I happened to walk to this park while in San Fransisco this time. The park has a lot of ways to climb up to the top. The area on the top is a good place to meditate. The view is blocked because of the trees but you still get a good view. When you get down, you can go to the Height street where there are a lot of restaurants and shops.
Up on the hill, this park serves an upscale neighborhood but is available to explore for everyone. Come and enjoy the great views of downtown and the Bay, plus the great architecture all around the park.
Park has lots of paths leading up to the high points. You get lovely views across to the Bay area and Mount Sutro and the tower. Head off into Haight Ashbury for a coffee after
Niice city views around the hill, and a good climb up to the top. After reaching the top it is nice to enjoy the different angles of the city views by walking down the hill. You do need to have some fitness though, because it is a big climb (well, we are in San Francisco!). ;)
I arrived out-of-breath after the tough hike up (both streets and steps), but was greeted by amazing panoramic views of the city.
