Jaleo

We had a phenomenal time at Jaleo. My husband and I did one of the tasting menus and the sherry pairing, and every bite and sip was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. He clearly loved sherry very much and shared his passion with us. We spent 2.5 hours enjoying a long, delicious meal. We will definitely be returning!

If you're in Washington, D.C., and looking for a restaurant that stands out from the rest and offers a truly enjoyable experience, you have to consider this one. Perfect location, exceptional and welcoming atmosphere, beautiful views at any time of day, and excellent service; the waiter (I don't remember his name) was very attentive without being pushy and knew how to make suggestions and guide you. The dishes are delicious and have a style you won't find in many restaurants. It's definitely among the top three I would recommend to anyone visiting Washington, D.C.

Jaleo is a spectacular tapas bar with a great menu and authentic Spanish cuisine. The whole restaurant has an awesome vibe, feeling very intentional and decorated, setting the scene for a fantastic dining experience. The tapas themselves speak for themselves, providing delicious flavors throughout the different options. We were super impressed on the quality of the cheeses and meats, and all of the potato and bread were cooked to perfection with amazing sauces. The patatas bravas and croquetas were a definite standout, and the gambas al ajillo hit the spot. Everything else was incredible as well, and we left as full as we were happy. It was tasty enough to where we didn’t even take a picture of everything. This is a great place to come with a group and treat yourself to a proper Spanish feast, as Jaleo gets it right. Everything was simply the best—food, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere were all outstanding. A must-try is the Cheesecake with Spanish goat cheese, Basque honey, and sea salt. It’s absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the meal!

Went on a Monday with res. Yummy food and drinks, cute vibes including the restroom! Pretty presentation. Spacious. Table was wobbly 😵‍💫 but service friendly!

Extraordinarily good dinner tonight. The mushrooms with mashed potatoes and a poached egg were a real highlight. Mariah is an excellent server and recommended a few dishes that could accommodate my food allergy. My husband ordered the croquetas, which he says are the best he's ever eaten. Can't wait to come back again soon!

We really wanted to love this restaurant and came in with high expectations. The service was friendly and attentive, the restaurant is lively and colorful, and there was no wait for a table late Sunday afternoon. Sadly, the food was disappointing. The garlic aioli was everywhere, the rossejat was greasy with poorly cooked shrimp, and the tomato bread was underwhelming. We did enjoy the garlic shrimp and the cod fritters.
