This expansive central park is great for walking, viewing the garden beds, manicured lawns, and seeing the park's majestic 100+ year old trees.
We had a brief visit to these gardens while touring Melbourne. They are very nice and well maintained. There's a conservatory as well as Capt. Cook's house on the grounds. These are well worth the visit.
We really enjoyed walking around this garden in Melbourne. We especially liked the Cook Cottage and the Conservatory. Wish we had more time to spend here. There is also a lovely gift shop.
This is a lovely free to access park a short distance from the CBD. There are playgrounds and lots of shaded areas to enjoy with the gleaming towers in the backdrop.
The best city garden in my opinion, as there's quite a lot to see apart from doing picnics, from Cooks Cottage to the Conservatory amongst tree carvings and fountains. For a central park however there's a lack of toilet facilities, even treasury gardens across the road has a decent public toilet. There's only one cafe with limited food items in the park. worth a visit
Whether walking through or taking some time to look at the attractions this is a nice open green space in the city with ornamental garden beds, lawns, ponds, statues and groves of trees. Especially enjoyed the beautiful flower display in The Conservatory (the display at the time I visited featured the colourful and unusual Schizanthus (Butterfly Flower) from South America). Also handy to drop in at the helpful Visitor Centre (info on the gardens, Melbourne and further afield). Colourful spring annuals lined avenues. Tulips were out.
is a nice park in Melbourne. Lots of trees, flowers, and paths to walk. You can see the Fairies’ Tree, a small Tudor village, and a little cottage. Good place to relax or have a picnic.
Lovely gardens. They are quite big, with lots of picnic spots and plants and flowers from around the country. The Conservatory is small but nice to visit.
Pretty garden with lots of interesting features, such as ponds, water fountains and sculptures. Not too big, so can easily be explored within an hour.
Easy to enjoy, free tram to explore all special places in the CBD, abundant produce, accessible arts, vibrant parks, foodie-heaven.
Pleasant weather Pleasant park
Always a pleasure to walk through these gardens and the conservatory. Too early for daffodils yet, but still well manicured.
Beautiful garden! I love the conservatory so much! A must for walk, a run, and a picnic.
Nice park! Very serene and relaxing! Lots of trees.
Not enough moss
Fitzroy Gardens is beautiful. Take a walk around find yourself a spot and enjoy the view, lots of space for a picnic. Flowers and ponds, old tall trees. Captain Cooks cottage worh a visit. Peaceful and relaxing while the city is working hard. Enjoy 👌
