Criterion Hotel Perth

The male receptionist was so rude we actually decided to go to a different hotel. Should not be working customer service. Saturday 11th April.

Central CBD location. Grand hotel since 1840s. Comfortable, clean spacious rooms, some with outside balcony looking over Hay St. Helpful staff. Dreadful wifi.

I live in Perth, but I used this hotel for a trip with a friend from Japan. There were two disappointing aspects: ① The air conditioner was broken, and it was so hot I could barely sleep during my stay. ② There was a tomato on the floor in the room, and my friend stepped on it, which was unpleasant. When I mentioned the broken air conditioner and asked to change rooms, I was told that the hotel was fully booked and they would clean and repair the air conditioner. However, upon returning, I was told to move rooms. Wasn't the hotel fully booked? I was told to pack my bags and come to reception, and when I arrived with my heavy luggage, the new room was just a stone's throw away from my old one. I dont understand why people has so many complain, it is the cheapest hotel by far in perth but it has all i need. The room is big enough to open 2 luggage. They have cloth storage, and tv table,. it has 2 doors fridge and bed is bit old but still manageable to sleep. The washroom also ok, only to close the shower tap is bit hard. But yes its super clean and the staff are all friendly, one even help me to warm the food. Too bad they dont have breakfast. Location is 10/10 its in CBD walkable to Chemist, Woolsworth, london court, etc. food are easy to find and jogging to Elizabeth Quay only need short step. I will come back. The design etc a bit outdated but i dont need to do selfie there, so all good.

Not saying anything that hasn't been said before really. Great location but that's it, rooms are very rundown and the bathrooms don't have any ventilation, meaning that there's likely mould somewhere. Staff are comically rude, won't even greet you when you greet them or show any basic social/customer service skills.

Horrible staff. Walked to reception and was snapped at "Name of booking?" by a miserable looking man. I said hello. He snapped again "Name of booking!" The customer service is revolting and so rude. Will never stay here again.

Very rude front desk staff. No welcome or courtesy to guests. Smelled musky and old. Would not recommend.

Great service especially the front desk! Thanks Eddy you provided me with much needed help regarding my booking made through a third party. Rooms are very clean. But sadly the Rooms lack basic maintenance and upkeep! Overall I had a positive experience.
