The Great Southern Hotel Sydney

I stayed for 3 nights with a friend for sightseeing. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the nearest Central Station. After exiting the ticket gate, head towards the exit marked Pitt St., pass a bus rotary, and take the escalator down. The hotel is just across two traffic lights. The exterior is easy to spot, and it's almost a straight walk from the station, so you won't get lost. (That said, the first time I went, I took the wrong exit and ended up taking a very long detour... Please be careful!) The exterior and interior are a bit dated, but we didn't have any problems with that; in fact, we thought it added to the charm. There's a pub next to the hotel entrance and a restaurant-like area on the way to the front desk, but we didn't use them this time. I'm not very good at English, but the front desk staff were very patient and helpful, which made me feel very at ease. Thank you for holding our luggage before check-in; it was a great help. The elevator you take depends on your room number, so please check before heading to your room. The facilities are pretty much the same as a typical Japanese business hotel. Water conservation is a major concern throughout Australia, and showers have a water pressure like a small waterfall, which is different from Japan, but I got used to it quickly. There was a hairdryer provided, and the strong air pressure and heat dried even my thick hair quickly. There was a notice in the room stating that trash not placed in the trash can would not be collected, so I recommend making sure to put all your plastic bottles in there as well. The bed was made and towels changed daily, and soap and shampoo were replenished. I had no particular problems during my stay and was very satisfied. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Sydney. Thank you very much.

I really wanted to make an accommodation at their hotel for my upcoming trip to Sydney. However, I'm really disappointed with their service being unhelpful. I sent them an email about a week ago because I had some questions that I wanted to ask which they haven't written back until now. Recently, I tried to call them 4 times (twice on both separate days) and nobody at their end answered my call. I sent them a follow up email which they ignored. I don't understand how this hotel can operate doing business while disregarding any questions that future clients wish to ask through phone calls and emails.
