Altermale (The We'reHouse)

Altermale — better known on the scene as The We'reHouse — is Makati's one discreet gay bathhouse, tucked away on Marconi Street in the quiet residential barangay of San Isidro on the western edge of the city. There is no signage out front; regulars find it beside a small neighbourhood store. Inside it runs as a members-only sauna and social house with a maze of dark corridors, cabins, a small bar and karaoke, and masseurs available. It is a low-key, locals-oriented spot rather than a slick commercial spa, so expect a modest entrance fee and a members' policy on arrival. Because it is unmarked and residential, it is worth confirming current hours before making the trip. The larger, long-established gay bathhouses of Metro Manila are in neighbouring cities such as Pasay, but within Makati proper this is the one dedicated gay sauna.
