B1 Downtown Hotel Sofia

The room was good, quite clean. There was some hair here and there, but nothing bad overall. The lights were a bit hard to get used to, but the view from the window on the 8th floor was very nice! The walls are a bit thin so you can hear your neighbours, but we were lucky it wasn’t too bad.

The Damianis (hopefully) greatly appreciated the facility, the friendliness, the bar, and the room! Recommended!

The location is convenient, the room is clean and there is a refrigerator. Of the minuses: the air conditioner in our room was located in such a way that it constantly blew into your head. Only by sitting at the table could you avoid this. Of the tips: I do not advise taking vouchers at the hotel reception for breakfasts at Green Deli Kafe, which is through a glass door - you can buy what you need there without a voucher. And when taking a voucher - you pay 9 euros, not everything can be taken in the cafe with it and if you took a larger amount, you have to pay extra, if you took a smaller amount - they do not give change. In short, these vouchers are a waste of money, and the breakfasts there are so-so (it is not a buffet, the choice is limited, if you come a little later, there is generally a small choice or yesterday's food from the fridge).

A nice hotel just steps from the center of Sofia. The rooms are renovated and everything looks new and clean. On the downside, the pillows, like in most European countries, didn't have pillowcases and smelled a bit like hair oil. The curtains weren't completely blackout, and a lot of light came in during the morning. The staff wasn't friendly. When you enter and say "hello," they don't respond. Although this seems to be common in Sofia. For breakfast, they give you a €9 voucher per day to spend at the hotel bar; it's not your typical hotel breakfast. Even so, it's centrally located, and we had a very pleasant stay.

I was scammed. Paid for a room with air conditioning and I didn’t get it. It was around 30*C in my room and the window opened about 2 cm. Went down to reception 5 times during my stay and was told that they had turned it on in my room. It was a complete lie. I was being lied to by the rude and unhelpful staff.

We had a great time, thanks to the hotel's location. Unfortunately, there are a few things wrong with this hotel. It is new and fresh, but also very hot because there is no working air conditioning. They honestly admit this; in fact, there is no air conditioning. The staff is very strange; they watch videos on their phones all day and pay no attention to the guests. Additionally, we had discussed a number of matters and made agreements via email. They did not follow through on this, but they still charged it to the bill. I would look for another hotel.

I had a terrifying experience at B1 Downtown Hotel. I paid around $75 (€63) for my stay, but instead of safety, I encountered physical intimidation. ​While I was in my room, a male staff member rang my bell to complain about music volume. When I opened the door to talk and asked him to show me the official hotel noise policy, he became aggressive. The most unacceptable part: he used his physical strength to hold my door open, forcibly preventing me from closing it. ​I felt threatened and trapped in my own room. Regardless of any rules, a hotel employee has NO right to use force against a guest or prevent them from closing their door. This is a massive safety violation and professional misconduct. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel if you value your safety and basic human rights. The hotel is very nice, close to all the tourist attractions, in a quiet yet central area of ​​the city. It's close to a metro station. The rooms are beautiful, have everything you need, and are bright. I didn't appreciate the fact that both rooms we saw only had single beds, the pillows weren't very comfortable, and the shower door didn't cover the splashes of the water. On the other hand, the mattress was wonderful, and despite the carpet, everything seemed clean. Unfortunately, we found a bed bug in the room on the first evening, most likely brought in by another previous guest (most likely there was only one; we checked both mattresses very carefully and didn't seem to have any others). However, just to be safe, we contacted the front desk, and they changed our room without any problems, which we appreciated. In the second room, which was also a little more spacious and nice, we didn't find any bugs, even after carefully checking the mattresses, seams, and pillows. There could have been a discount for the inconvenience, but it wasn't, but it doesn't matter; they behaved well anyway. I would stay here again if I were to stay in Sofia again.
