From prior reviews we were a bit concerned about the room size but booked it anyway due to superior location. We were surprised to find this our favorite hotel of the entire trip. The room is well designed kind of feels like staying on a boat. We had a waterfront room and I don't think there could be a better room for view and location on the island. Having a window above the bed that you could keep open at night listening to the ocean was awesome. Beyond that the staff, everyone of them, were amazing. The breakfast buffet again was first class. We travel often around the world and this ranks as one of our favorite hotels.
A symbol of elegance the property still has and holds strong its spirit! Amazing location - walking distance to night life A great pool with spectacular pool service (spicy margarita yummy) had the sea view Room where you could hear the sea at night perfect meditation sound to fall asleep Super accommodating staff and SPA facilities awesome! Took 3 step (infrared sauna - cold plunge and massage was the ideal relaxation) Excellent food and frankly the best place to have dinner overlooking the sea without the hassle of a noise packed restaurant - Stronly suggest dinner at the hotel !
i had an amazing stay at this hotel, the staff were extremely kind and helpful, especially the staff at reception. however, alexandra was so sweet and she knew what i liked to have for breakfast and brought it for me every morning and i didn’t even have to ask! she really made breakfast more enjoyable and special for me 😊 if you come to this hotel make sure when you get your breakfast to ask for alexandra! overall, i had such a great stay at theoxenia, all the staff were so kind, we had a room with an amazing view, it was clean and on top of that it’s located in such a nice area where you can go down and take a walk in the beautiful little venice!
Alexandra was an absolute sweetheart ❤️ She spoiled my daughter every morning, always remembering her favorite chocolate crêpe or waffle. Such a beautiful soul who made our mornings extra special
The hotel has a long history and is in a perfect location just behind the famous windmills and a short walk to Little Venice. They provide a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport/ferry port which is hugely beneficial. There's a very nice pool area and pool bar (complimentary water is provided), and they have a private pathway down to a small public beach. Our room was strangely designed with the main sink/mirror opposite the bed and a closet either side of the sink featuring a shower room and small toilet. It was functional with a partial sea view but definitely not the best design by any means. It did include all mod cons such as a coffee machine, robes and slippers. However, we were disappointed that they didn’t replenish the bottle of drinking water and the coffee capsules during our stay. The 'gym' was basically a tiny room with a bike, treadmill and a few weights...it was definitely a token gym and really not worth having. On the plus side, breakfast was very good and served in a lovely venue. It consisted of a large buffet plus cooked-to-order eggs, etc. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.
We spent two wonderful nights at Mykonos Theoxenia, booked with points, and it was a truly memorable experience! It was early May, so not many people at the hotel, and we got a real 5-star treatment from the moment we arrived and were welcomed with drinks while they showed us around the property. Among other nice gestures, they left a complimentary bottle of prosecco and fruit in our room, and even offered us a ride to our next hotel. Everyone was super friendly, with a special thanks to the concierge, the manager, and the great staff at breakfast. Breakfast was a feast, a huge buffet to choose from, and eggs and other dishes to order. The hotel is historic and very beautiful. We had a big and quiet room, with a nice balcony and a very comfortable bed. And the location is perfect, right in front of the windmills, a short walk to Little Venice and near the bus stop.
Amazing location central to Mykonos town/little Venice so there’s a lot within walking distance and easy to transfer to Zuma, Scorpios and various beach clubs. The room was relaxing with an incredible view. The service staff were amazing from top to bottom. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.
The most hidden gem in Mykonos hotels. Worth every penny. Private and serene yet steps from all the Mykonos hotspots. Literally behind the windmills. Stunning architecture. Gracious staff. Serene pools with plenty of beds and great service. The breakfast buffet should be in the Michelin guide and the restaurant should be on your list even if you don’t stay here. We cannot sing more praise. There was nothing we found lacking except it would be nice to have screens in the small window over the bed so we could leave it open and not worry about bugs coming in. PS the cats are well cared for so don’t let that worry you.
My wife and I traveled to Mykonos for a wedding and our first two days were at the Theoxenia hotel. We were greeted by Julia who gave us a tour of the hotel and arranged for our bags to be delivered. This worked out quite well as we had just arrived from the US and were very tired. The hotel is well-located at the edge of Little Venice and this makes it easy to visit old Mykonos. The facility is well maintained and the service is outstanding. That alone would be enough for us to recommend Theoxenia. The key for us, though, was that my wife needed a doctor the day after we arrived. Julia and her team took immediate ownership and got us the help we needed. It felt like we were part of the family. When you need medical help in a foreign country, six time zones from where you live, it's a great comfort to have the kind of support that Theoxenia offered. My wife got better quickly but we will always be grateful for the help and support of Julia and her team.
Great hotel, perfect location. Very very nice staff.
