Praia 19 Dunes

The dunes and pine scrub behind Praia 19 at Costa da Caparica, south of Lisbon, are a long-standing outdoor cruising area next to the gay and naturist beach. Activity runs along the sandy paths between the beach and the Transpraia train line, mostly on warm afternoons and early evenings from about May to September. The area is inside the protected Arriba Fóssil landscape. Keep to the existing paths and stay out of sight of other beachgoers. There are no facilities, so bring water and sun protection. Don't leave bags unattended, on the beach or in the dunes.
