Barceló Málaga

Great hotel in a superb location above the María Zambrano rail station 2 minute walk from the side exit. Room was very roomy and the bed was very comfortable. House keeping was brilliant, big shout out to Maria, she could not have been better.

I always come here for the peaceful atmosphere, the food, and the excellent service from the waiters (especially the Venezuelan guy, who is always a delight). I recommend it 100%.

We've been going to eat at the Santa María restaurant in the Barceló hotel for quite some time now… we rarely go less than once or twice a month, and we keep coming back because of the peaceful atmosphere, the food, and the service, especially from the waiters, Luis Muñoz. He's a true professional.

Great experience

Breakfast was nice, pool service was good, close to walk to shopping food, behind Maria zambrano. N the hotel has its own entrance to the metro, city is easy enough to just to take the metro, if you do t want to pay for cabs. Although Uber was pretty cheap. Beautiful hotel, clean rooms. I recommend highly.. so many extra perks.

We spent five nights at the Barceló Málaga. The very friendly staff and the excellent breakfast, with its wide selection and high quality, were particularly noteworthy. We were less impressed with the location. First-time visitors to Málaga should be aware that the old town is about a 25-minute walk away, and the sea isn't directly accessible. For a classic city break, there are hotels with significantly better locations. Furthermore, there were visible mold spots in our bathroom, which is not ideal for a hotel of this category. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel, primarily for its service and breakfast. 4/5 stars.
