Brilliant old school pub great staff

Visited this pub plus hotel this evening, being very surprised the atmosphere and friendly greetings from staff and locals my evening was lovely especially with the young lady Shannon Welsh female vocalist who was exceptional, my evening with m friends would certainly recommend this. This public house with so much history also needs people of Hull to save her from destruction like so many other buildings we have lost

A great place to relax with friendly locals in a traditional old pub

Helen has made a real gem here. Remember pubs before the age of corporations, when there was a toastie machine behind the bar and they shoved in a cellophane wrapped sarnie, served without that daft salad they charged twice as much for? You know, pubs with real character and atmosphere? That’s what you get here. A proper pub. Great music, a well kept pool room with a fantastic, free table. You can sit staring at the decor for hours and yet still have more to see. Affordable food, simple but exactly what you want from a pub; not the fries served in a plant pot places you seem to get these days. If you fancy something a little more homely, with the warmest of welcomes, you’d struggle to find anywhere better.

Unfortunately I could not find it. Hull has changed so much since I was here 40 years ago.
