Super cool place! I’m a regular here and it’s definitely my favourite spot every weekend. The music is just wow and the atmosphere is always so good! The staff are amazing and always friendly. Zak at the door is very welcoming and such a nice guy. He really looks after the guests and makes sure everyone is safe and having a good time. The bar staff are also super fun and friendly. Always such a good vibe and a great night! ❤️
Amazing venue! So so happy it stayed queer. I can see some comments about the look of it and if you don’t know drag history (New York)- go watch Paris is burning! and studio 58 you won’t understand. (I suggest you do) Also it’s called coven? He wants it to look like a coven? Like it’s legit which theme guys cmon! LOVE that he also has tarot readings in the toilet and is trying to cater to all times of days with a cafe too. Matthew has worked so so hard to get to this place of his own. He deserves all the success! I’m so happy the venue has stayed queer and I can’t wait for it to boom! Love you Matthew! P xxx
Very disappointing first impression I was really looking forward to visiting COVEN on Saturday night, especially as it’s a brand-new venue in the heart of Soho. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing and, in my opinion, the venue still feels a long way from being finished. When we arrived, the door staff were sitting on chairs and didn’t seem particularly interested in welcoming guests. Once inside, the first thing that caught our attention was a piece of wall art literally sitting on the floor, with an extension cable hanging from the ceiling. It immediately gave the impression that the venue was still very much a work in progress. There were only a handful of people downstairs, and although we decided to give it a chance and have a drink, the space still felt very much like the old G-A-Y venue with what appeared to be a fairly rushed paint job. There were wires and cables visible, plastic or coverings where screens appeared to have been removed, poor lighting effects and various unfinished-looking details throughout. We headed upstairs hoping things would improve, but unfortunately they didn’t. The quality of the painting and finishing was particularly poor, and the seating we found was badly covered and uncomfortable. The overall atmosphere and unfinished décor honestly made the place feel more like an abandoned or makeshift space than a brand-new Soho venue. The music also wasn’t really to our group’s taste, although that’s obviously subjective and not something I would criticise the venue too heavily for. It’s a real shame because I was genuinely excited to see what COVEN would bring to Soho. There is clearly potential here, but at the moment it feels like the venue has opened before it was ready. The basic finishing, presentation, lighting, maintenance and overall attention to detail need a lot of work before it reaches the standard I’d expect from a new venue in Soho. I really hope the owners take the feedback on board because I’d love to see COVEN succeed — but based on our visit, unfortunately I wouldn’t rush back at this stageVery disappointing first impression I was really looking forward to visiting COVEN on Saturday night, especially as it’s a brand-new venue in the heart of Soho. no issues! the place is huge, has 5 floors i think. bar staff are super friendly although i’ve knocked off a star because they literally had no beers on tap when i went. music is decent. overall, i’d recommend!
Visited Coven HQ and, honestly, the service is fine — but the space itself is a shocker. Whatever makeover they attempted has completely missed the mark. It looks worn out, cheaply thrown together, and absolutely crying out for a full refurb. The inclusive vibe is great in principle, but the execution makes the whole place feel bargain‑basement rather than welcoming. For a venue in Soho, it’s nowhere near the standard it should be hitting.
Awful, needs a really good clean and scrub! Play better music
