Expensive beer and average service The calamari’s were undercooked and should have come with chips or at least them mentioned Plus £6:50 for non alcoholic Guinness

Four of us went here for a late lunch. Two of us had the sea bass - both badly overcooked. My wife sent hers back, the next one was also overcooked! The noodles with the duck dish were as hard as barbed wire. It was not busy so at these prices simply not good enough. Two stars because the beer was very good. Eat elsewhere would be my advise.

Lovely little pub immediately off the A24 at Mickleham. Virtually no parking so if there is a space on the main road grab it. If you drive up Byttom Hill turning round is difficult. The menu was good but all options were expensive as was the beer! Service was friendly, efficient and attentive

We visited on a Saturday in the late afternoon and had a great experience. The food was very tasty and we were served by very friendly staff. We are looking forward to returning and are happy to recommend the pub to others.

Such a lovely old-style pub. Wood burning fire, in the Surrey hills. Home cooked food and good beer. Could have stayed all day.

Stopped by The King William after a long walk around Box Hill, and it was the perfect way to end the day. The pub is incredibly cosy, especially with its lovely fireplace that gives the whole place a warm and welcoming feel. We had the Sunday roast, which was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Eamon and his staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively in just the right way. The pub itself is very popular (and for good reason!), so it’s definitely worth booking ahead. When the weather’s nice, the garden is beautiful — it overlooks Norbury Park and makes for a stunning spot to sit with a drink. A truly charming country pub with great food, lovely service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended after a walk in the area!

We came back to the king William as we’ve had such wonderful dining here before, and the sunset from the outside is perfect. Soon arriving we were served by Kat who took our drinks order who had such a great friendly greeting and instantly made us feel so welcome. We originally sat outside but then when the sun went down we moved inside next to the wood fire…perfect! We ordered steak & ale pie and then sticky toffee pudding & apple pie for after, all home made and I must say….amazing!! As a foodie I was very content and to round it all off the atmosphere and staff there are always amazing! They came to check everything was ok and because we asked they gave us some background on the pub and the homemade food. Simply amazing and our favourite local now! Will definitely be back!!

Went there Sunday, Great location and dining room. Brilliant and friendly staff. One problem, all the selected meats were cold and only heated by the very hot gravy. Would go back, but would tell them to make sure the meat was hot!

Popped in for Saturday lunch whilst out walking. Glorious sunny day and sitting on the outside terraces of the pub was great. Tried their beef and chicken burger - full marks for both. All served by a friendly and efficient team. Highly recommend and we plan to organise another visit.
