Myself and my son met up with friends and our dogs, we like to try different walks with the pooches, Heaton park is quite large and we only got round half, it just got too hot for the dogs so we had to cut it short, but before we left we had lunch in the cafe, the food was delicious
Heaton Park Food Festival, hundreds of homemade Artisan foods etc, mountains of food vans with all types of food, BUT YET AGAIN FROM THE HUDREDS OF FOOD OPTIONS, NOT ONE SINGLE OPTION FOR A GLUTEN FREE MEAL OR SNACK, so no food for me, my family were waiting over 45 minutes at other stalls as were everyone else, from a food point, this is an absolute shambles with extortionate prices beyond belief, the event and organisation were very good, however if you have been once, its the same stuff all over again. You are paying restaurant prices for luke warm average food that you have queued for a lifetime for. Value for money? NO, would i go again NO, overcrowded, expensive and just like the Christmas markets same each year. This is my honest and personal view from someone who thought maybe one stall could offer a gluten free option.
I often go to municipal parks to aimlessly wander, and I sometimes get bored. That never happened here. I spent much longer here than planned and loved it! It would be superb for people with kids, but there’s really something for everyone!
Heaton Park is gorgeous and impeccably maintained, with expansive green lawns perfect for walking. Don't miss the charming mini petting zoo—featuring donkeys, peacocks, rabbits, and birds—or the unforgettable close-up encounter with the friendly Highland cows. It's an ideal day-out destination: wheelchair accessible, with ample parking, restrooms, and food options for all ages.
We visited recently and the park itself and the woodland were beautiful. The garden centre is definitely worth a visit too. The buildings look tired and unloved. The lakeside cafe is dirty and food and drink tasteless yet expensive. I would definitely return but take a picnic and grab a cuppa from the garden centre cafe.
Huge park with loads to do. Different play grounds and loads of woodland area to explore. The lake it a short walk go get aroud it and boats are available to rent (we didnt as kids were scared). We visited the farm too which was clean
Immense park nn we were able to visit everything because too grande.bello c was a lot of people we saw the bulls pond relaxing air to get away from the chaos of the city
I used to love this park but we visited last week (with friends and our children aged between 6-10) and it's just not the same. Car parking is £3.50 max which I can live with (it used to be free) and the play area nearest the car park is great. The play area near the boating lake is quite damaged and dirty with broken equipment - but watching the families there is was obvious this has been done intentionally by children whose parents just don't care. The cafe next to the boating lake is disgracefully expensive. Cheap ice creams are priced at £4.25... the coffee wasn't good and was again silly expensive. It was dirty with overflowing bins and unhelpful staff. Take a picnic and go to the cleaner play area. Stroke the beautiful cows and go and see the animals but avoid the cafes.
What a fabulous park. We spent a lovely couple of hours strolling around. There's a beautiful lake with Swan pedalos. Lots of cafes. An animal farm with pigs, alpacas, ducks, goats etc. It's the largest park in the North West. We found it clean and well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.
I always come here with my friends for picnic, here’s so peaceful and beautiful environment for different activities. The park is huge and have a lots of cute animals. 💕
I love the atmosphere there and the weather was nice
Great park, with some really good play areas for kids of all ages.
Golf is challenging
Fantastic for family
The third is a xxxx! Bring your driver....
Love park with lots to do. The farm, the play ground, the water area. It's so big you can easily get 20k steps from walking fo the different areas.
It's view is amazing
Free except for parking. Great afternoon out. Shame about the old Colonnade facade of Manchester's old Town Hall, very over grown and not able to get near. Maybe they could do something with it. Cafe is really great for lunch, not many gluten free options though.
Really nice park, good for doing pincin or walk here in a dencent weather!
Nice place for walk😇
