Savannah doesn't have a traditional gay bathhouse — but there are fitness and wellness facilities with sauna amenities that serve as informal gathering places for the LGBTQ+ community. The city's gay scene is small, warm, and centred on a few reliable venues.
The most established option — a gym with sauna facilities that draws a gay-leaning crowd, particularly men in their thirties and up. Dry sauna with woodsy warmth, steam room with eucalyptus, whirlpool, and shower areas. $15 day pass. Bear-friendly, body-positive atmosphere without pressure. During Pride season (October) it becomes a post-festival gathering spot.
Boutique fitness club in Midtown with a more mixed but gay-friendly crowd — infrared sauna, steam room with lavender, hot tub, and yoga areas. Members-only with a day pass option. Open until midnight. SCAD students and visitors use this regularly. $12 day pass.
The gay bar scene in Savannah is small but consistent — a few venues in the historic downtown, particularly around Congress Street and River Street. Savannah Pride (October) centres on the historic squares and is one of the more charming Pride events in the South, with parades through the Spanish moss-lined streets. The city's historic character and generally tolerant student-influenced culture make it more welcoming than most of Georgia.
