Stroll down Frei Caneca for early-evening drinks at Barão da Itararé or up to Jiquitaia for an excellent Brazilian meal. A good portion of the hotel itself is newly-renovated (ask at the front desk which floor has the new rooms.) Service is great, Wi-fi may or may not be free, and the overnight guest policy is
