Picos House

We got to Aguas Calientes and the hostel we previously booked cancelled on us without calling. We were really lucky to contact Carlos who helped us out with a room immediately and gave us great advice for visiting Machu Picchu. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The location is close to anything you need but away from the busy streets. The terrace for breakfast is a huge plus! Thank you Carlos!

The rooms were nice and clean, but lacked ventilation. There was no hot water during our two-night stay, which, judging by the reviews, seems to be a common problem. On the other hand, while the town is small, it's somewhat far from the center, requiring a climb up quite a few stairs. Furthermore, we paid 150 soles per night, which supposedly included breakfast, but we had to ask for it... and all we got was coffee and toast, whereas other places offer a more substantial breakfast. Unfortunately, these are details that are overlooked but are necessary to maintain the business. However, the view from the terrace is spectacular.

The rooms were nice, although it was very humid. During our stay, there was no hot water in the shower, even though we complained. The location and service were also poor. At all the other hotels we stayed at, there was no problem leaving our bags so we could go to Machu Picchu, but here the "owner" didn't offer us that option so we could go without carrying cash. We had to pay to leave our bags somewhere else. I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The Host was super friendly and helpful, he made sure that we would feel like home. The rooms were comfy and the view from our windows was fantastic!🗻 Also this place got beautiful terrace where we could spend our evenings and enjoy the breakfast. Honestly, the terrace view was so incredible, that it paid off instantly, because you can see all the city and mountains around 👌

Very good location. The owner himself meets you at the train station, takes you to the house, responsive, kind. It was mentioned that breakfast is included, well, coffee and one egg, maybe it will be enough for someone, but in general you have to go eat somewhere after that. The shower didn't really work, the hot water barely flowed.

Highly recommended for your stay in Machu Picchu. Clean rooms, quiet neighborhood, and amazing breakfast. But especially because of the amazing host Carlos: he was always ready with good tips, asked us what we wanted for breakfast, and served it without any problems at 5:00 in the morning so we could get to Machu Picchu on time! We couldn't have wished for better attention!

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the price is reasonable, but the thing that makes it special is the Owner Carlos. He’s the best! He couldn’t be more helpful or nicer. Our son and daughter-in-law got sick and Carlos couldn’t do enough to help them. It made the stay great despite the tough circumstances. Highly recommended!

The best thing about this place is the kindness and diligence of its owner, Carlos. It's a building with several spotless rooms and the basics for a comfortable night's stay, including a simple breakfast. Keep in mind that there are many stairs to climb to reach the building, and if you end up on a high floor, it might be difficult for those with height issues.
