Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort and Spa a perfect location. The Reception staff provided excellent service, and the housekeeping staff did a very good job cleaning. 💕💕
Great views with very relaxing atmosphere, staff is very friendly and accommodating and the restaurants can prepare delicious dishes. Rooms and property were very clean and kept clean and well maintained during our stay. They have parking and also shuttle services to the beach and restaurants in the premises. There is a free ferry available to Hamilton several times during the day. There is Internet service throughout the property.
I read a lot of the reviews and I didn’t find the front desk staff to be rude at all! Everyone at this resort was kind and friendly. Maybe busy at times might put some guests off. The 2 BR was so spacious and so clean!!! So comfortable and the AC was kicking and nice and cold. The views were great of Hamilton. I loved watching the action in the harbour from ferry’s to cargo ships to sailing lessons to crew rowing. The infinity pool was wonderful. The pool bar bartender was excellent and so friendly. The housekeeping staff also friendly and accommodating. They have a free shuttle to their sister resort on the beach Coco Reef which was lovely on Elbow Beach… bring your goggles or snorkel lots of reefs. The ferry to Hamilton was out of service in the beginning of our trip but they offered a shuttle. We did catch the ferry once later in the trip and it was convenient but times are limited. The resort location is centrally located to explore both ends of the island. Tip: The Hitch app is the best way to get around it’s quicker than asking someone call a taxi. Don’t hesitate to stay here.
Lovely property. Very clean. Excellent restaurant. The downside is the ferry from the property to Hamilton shuts down each day from 11:20am until 5:20pm, including on Harbour Night. Very inconvenient.
Our room was expensive but the drains were clogged and there were ants crawling around everywhere. I woke up to an ant biting my eyebrow while sleeping. Some of the staff were nice but a few staff members were very rude and short and provided false information about shuttles and amenities, seemingly in an attempt to charge us more. The restaurant is also very pricey. Not worth the price, especially given the lack of proximity to the beach. The pool was nice and the lady Patrice working the pool bar was nice.
The hotel rooms are nice and the pool is okay but the staff at the pool restaurant don’t work for the hotel and are left to manage the umbrellas, chairs, etc.We were told about the beach at Cocoa Beach resort and the shuttle - not mention of a card you need to show the front desk until we were almost there. Luckily Cocoa Beach resort let us in. For the return they said there was a 4pm and 6pm shuttle. We waited for over an hour for the 6pm return shuttle with no one answering at the Newstead front desk for both us and the Cocoa Beach front desk making calls for us and another couple. The front desk thought “the shuttle driver came to get us”. Seems like a lot of disconnect and if I paid the ~$1350 a night for this (work paid) I would be very unhappy and disappointed.
The Good: Beautiful rooms, excellent restaurant, amazing view of Hamilton and the harbour and a great little pool The Bad: Staff + Little Things. Staff, especially the front desk are either disinterested or just effortlessly rude. “Welcome” or “Good morning”? nahhhh how about “whats your credit card” as soon as you walk in. You are made to feel like an inconvenience from the very start (*** Important to note that Spa and Restaurant staff in comparison were super friendly and very helpful) Little things: No paper towel in the kitchenette, services and amenities closing early (poolside bar at 5pm), lack of upkeep on the grounds. These things aren’t dealbreakers and will not prevent you from enjoying your stay. But nonetheless they leave a guest with a distinct impression that the staff/management have stopped caring.
