Great food great service and reasonable pricing can’t ask for much more. They do a Chicago style steak that is fabulous!

The service was fantastic, our service Misha was super awesome! The food was good, appetizers were better than the mains (chicken and salmon were a bit bland). But overall better than i expected from a corporate restaurant! I can tell the employees here have a lot of pride in their work!

sigh. This was our redemption visit. Our 1st visit was…not great. Both of our meals had issues bad enough to send back. Pistachios burnt to a crisp on the salmon, long story short they comped the bad meals and we chalked it up to a bad night. We tried again last night, and..2 for 2. Where do I start? We got the lobster gratinee for $21. It was pretty rough. Maybe 2 tablespoons of lobster, swimming under cheese. The dish they serve it in was misleading - it looked like a decent size ramekin but it was actually 5 small wells with one bite of lobster in each. For $21. Okay.. bad pick? Maybe that’s on us. I got the prime rib sandwich for $33. Steep, but not terrible. I had no complaints but I wouldn’t order it again. The real issue was my husbands. He ordered the Rib Steak and fries.. for $73!!!! He added the steak Oscar addition for an additional $20 (don’t get me started, inedible, definitely not fresh and likely microwaved - he got sick later and we believe this was the culprit) bringing his meal total to $93. He requested medium well, Chicago style. It arrived basically well-done. He’s not one to make a fuss, but our lovely server pointed it out first. We were happy and impressed she did. She offered to bring it back and throw another one on the grill. We waited for his second steak, it came out. It was RAW. absolutely raw but charred on the outside (Chicago style). It was bad. Our server again pointed out it was incorrect & offered to fix it AGAIN, but by that time we were ready to go. We took the raw steak home to make fajitas with the next day. For $93, to have to cook two steaks & not get either right spoke volumes. For the price of hubbys meal alone we can enjoy two excellent meals at Mic Mac Tavern, and we’ve never had a bad steak there. The good: our server. Bless her heart, she was EXCELLENT. Attentive, kept us in drinks, 10/10! They comped the $93. We appreciated that greatly, but after these two visits - we’re done. Go with whatcha know: Mic Mac Tavern!

Good food for a big price.

Its been about 10 years, maybe more since ive been to the keg. Had a great appetizer and a great entree. Forgot to take photos. My server Taylor was great as well.

No happy hour despite being advertised.

I was there on June 24th. I ordered the sirloin Oscar. I’ve sent food back twice in my life, after being to hundreds of restaurants. The first time it was cold. They brought it back and I ate it. The steak had so much grissel (membranes) that I couldn’t chew it enough to swallow it. This was the first time I took food out of my mouth and put it on the plate. They offered to make another one for me, but I wouldn’t take a chance. This was the first time I’ve never eaten a meal. The manager/hostess apologized and said that it happens sometimes. I guess I was unlucky. They took it off the bill and I will never go back.

One of the best steaks in town! I had the 12 oz New York Strip cooked medium, and it was perfectly prepared—flavorful, tender, and cooked just the way I like it. The sides were excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere and a fantastic dining experience overall. Definitely one of my favorite places for steak in Halifax, and I’ll be back!
