Super 8 by Wyndham Mt Hope Hamilton Intl Arpt ON

It's not my nature to give poor reviews but something seems seriously off about this hotel. I'm also no stranger to hostels and 2-star places also, but this is something beyond that. Positives: the room was quite clean, and I did not see any insects / bedbugs. The fridge works and there is hot water, and the sheets are clean. Very, very quiet and peaceful. The front desk folks are very nice. Very close to the airport. Negatives: 1. NO KEYS! Their system is broken and I suppose has been for weeks so you don't get a key to your room. The front desk staff lets you in each time. Unfortunately, it was also suggested to me that I leave my door unlocked when going for breakfast, which of course I would not do. 2. The room is quite worn down. Missing knobs on the dresser, curtains really mangled, ripped carpet, water stains. 3. The room has a heat pump / heater but the rest of the hotel does not feel heated. The room was freezing (as in completely unheated) when I was first let in and it took a few hours for it to heat up to an ok temperature. The whole situation makes me wonder as if the hotel is going out of business or in the process of being abandoned. I did not see another patron the entire 3 days I stayed here. I think maybe there were 3-4 people staying in the whole hotel. Very strange vibes here and in my opinion, definitely not worth the $150 / night I paid. If it was cheaper, it might be alright.

Very accommodating last minute

I am writing to formally complain about my recent stay at your property. In 35 years of travel, this was the worst experience I have ever encountered. We only remained at the hotel because an ice storm and a cancelled flight left us with no other options in an unfamiliar area. The condition of the room was unacceptable. There was visible water damage on the ceiling, tape peeling off the walls, and a persistent unpleasant odor. Furthermore, the room was freezing upon our arrival. The heating system was a forced-air unit with no thermostat, making it impossible to regulate the temperature comfortably. To make matters worse, we were not provided with a room key. Every time we left the room, we had to contact the front desk to be let back in. This level of service and the state of the facilities are a significant concern, and I am confident that an inspection would find the property in violation of basic standards. I expect a response regarding how you intend to address these issues.

Room was horrible. Smelled like 3 year old stale smoke. Room was freezing. Pillows the size of small throw cushions. Bottom sheet was “beige” not white. Bed covering had cigarette burns. Drapes did not fully cover the ground floor sliding doors out to the parking lot. No glass/plastic cup in bathroom to rinse after brushing teeth. Tv remote died as soon as I turned on tv (batteries). No wifi password and barely any cell signal. . No room card due to reader not working. Called front desk 3x through ultra staticy phone and no answer. Have cancelled my Sunday night stay.

Non existant breakfast. Door key locks broken. Peace a quiet but shouldnt of even offered breakfast. Couodnt even find milk or cream for coffee.

Freaking cold , aprox 15 degrees , had to sleep in my parka.

We booked this hotel to be close to the airport and it was absolutely disgusting. The room smelled of smoke and terrible body odor, the sheets were not clean. The bathroom towels were all a stained yellow colour and there were blood stains on the shower curtain. The Wi-Fi does not work properly, the tv remote held together with duct tape. The key card machine was broken so we didn’t even have access to get into our own room and had to ask the front desk staff each time! If it wasn’t for my flight the next day I would’ve left immediately. This hotel is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

Terrible place. Canadian flag flying outside was in absolute tatters…pretty bad for Remembrance Day. No key access to room so I had to be let in by desk clerk. To go for coffee I had to leave my room unlocked. Breakfast was a tiny muffin and some instant oatmeal. Not great. Towels were thread bare and grey (supposed to be white). Front desk staff were very friendly. Room lights didn’t work…had to find bed side light with the light on my phone. Not worth the money.

terrible. i had a 6am flight so i chose this place out of convenience to make sure i was at the airport on time. it was a last minute decision so i just looked up airport hotel.... bad idea. this was the most disgusting place i've been to. the bedding was cut fabric not even actual bedding, the stains and smells in the carpets were horrendous and everywhere. the white linens & towels had a yellow hue to them.. even basic things like the pictures and lights on the walls were dirty & not even straight. i wish i took photos.. the leather couch barely had any leather left on it.. i paid $150 for a 1 bed room for 5 hours of sleep. i wished i had just slept in my rental car instead. i was so grossed out i slept fully clothed on top of the bedding and wore my shoes right to the bed before taking them off.. bc i did not want my feet touching the floor. and this is coming from someone who has and will sleep outside in the wild or live with no water or electricity. i couldn't imagine being someone who is a germaphobe coming in here.

There is no internet and no restaurant as advertised.
