Old Stagecoach Inn

Our first stay at a bed and breakfast, what took us so long to try one??? Everything about our stay was wonderful! Christa is a fabulous host, so friendly and inviting. The inn is historic and charming, but has all of the creature comforts. I appreciated access to tea and coffee (and cookies!) round the clock. Our room was comfy, clean, and cozy. The common areas were equally comfy and I felt very welcome to relax and chat with others. Be sure to visit the perfect little pub in the inn, great selection of beer, wine, and craft cocktails. This is a great location for a ski weekend, just 15 minutes to Bolton Valley, also close to Stowe and Sugarbush as well. A nice full breakfast before heading out to the slopes was perfect. Thank you Christa and your team! We'll be back!

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was excellent. There was also self-serve tea/coffee by reception which was lovely. The inn is in a fantastic location in Waterbury, close to fantastic restaurants in the centre of the town.

We received a friendly reception. The common area is well appointed and comfortable. Very nice large room with chairs (always appreciated). Breakfast options very good and tasty. Plenty of parking. Recommend.

We travel to VT every November and we found The Old Stagecoat Inn thru Airbnb and we are so happy we did. The Inn is picturesque of what a Vermont Inn is. Christa is wonderful. She made us feel right at home and was so helpful and accommodating. The location is in a perfect spot to breweries, restaurants and shops, no car was needed as we could walk everywhere. We stayed in room 10 on second floor, perfect for 2. Included with our stay was a full breakfast, which was delicious. The Inn has a sitting area and the fire was so cozy. To top it off there is also a little bar area to have a night cap. We will definitely be back and book right thru their websites as they had some great specials. A hidden gem for sure.

Host, property, experience, breakfast, everything about our stay here was 5 stars! Did not want to leave but left knowing where we’ll stay on our next trip to this area.

Right downtown, very convenient walk to restaurants/bars. Fantastic breakfast! Friendly, helpful staff, clean room. Would stay again in a heart beat

What a wonderful experience. Great hospitality. Sit at the bar and have a conversation with another traveller, share your adventures, enjoy your time. Share space with a stranger. Delicious breakfast. Cozy comfortable rooms. No regrets!

So, I booked this in the full knowledge that the room was very small, shared a bathroom with two other bedrooms and was an adjoining room. The room was even smaller than expected 😂 but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was directly across from the room and was probably bigger than the room but it was a nice bathroom - biggest issue there was the height of the shower in the bath and we had to duct down in order to use it and I’m not that tall. Other issue was the noise from the adjoining room - the couple next door were talking quite late into the night and they could have been in the room with us as we heard every word of their conversation. Personally, I would convert this ‘bedroom’ into a bathroom and make it an ensuite or only ever let it out with the adjoining room - never, ever would I let it out as a standalone room. At 5.00 am, we were woken up with what I thought was my phone alarm. After trying to switch it off, we realised that it was actually the smoke alarm. We got up and went into the corridor along with guests from two other rooms - the fire alarm was only going off in our room 😳 - it eventually stopped itself after 5 minutes. We fully expected a member of staff to come and check and see what was happening but no-one came. When I told them at breakfast, I was greeted with a shocked and surprised expression. We were both sound asleep when the alarm went off so no idea why that happened but it creeped me out so much I was unable to go back to sleep as I wasn’t 100% sure that there was no fire and therefore why it went off in the first place. The absolute positive to this place is the food and service - there was complimentary apple cider and warm cookies in a glass jar along with tea, coffee etc The breakfast the following morning was excellent. The place itself is lovely and in a great location. I would absolutely recommend staying here - just not in that room - think it was room 5 from memory. Pay a little extra and avoid it.

My best friend and I had a reservation at the Old Stagecoach Inn and had to cancel due to official severe storm and travel hazard warningsissued across New England. Flights were canceled or delayed, and even the airline sent automatic refund offers for safety reasons. Every other small business involved in our trip, four hotels, Airbnbs, our Turo car rental, and the airlines, provided full refunds or credits. The Old Stagecoach Inn was the only one that refused to offer any flexibility, citing that severe weather is a “foreseeable” risk and that I should have purchased trip insurance. I understand small businesses rely on reservations, but the response from management felt unnecessarilyj rigid and dismissive, especially compared to the empathy shown by other small, family owned Vermont inns. Given how the situation was handled, I would not stay here or recommend it to others. P.S. We don’t think extreme weather is “foreseeable” since we had been checking the weather up to a week prior.

Such as great location and place to stay. Breakfast was so good every morning, variety of menu options. Location is only 15-20 minutes from Stowe. Enjoyed our weekend trip to Vermont. Highly recommend staying here for a fun bed and breakfast experience!

Very bad experience!! They gave us a very small room. Looks like it was a kid room. The ceiling was very low. I was feeling very suffocated. I won’t go there again.
