The Bush

“I serve drinks, not cups of ice.” That is what the masc bartender told me this past weekend when I asked for two cups of ice. If providing such a thing is not allowed, or comes at a charge, that is absolutely fine. However, instead of telling me how I should proceed, I was given a nasty response to a simple question. This is not the first time I’ve had a negative encounter with this bartender(there’s been multiple), but this by far was the worst interaction I’ve had at this bar. I love The Bush. I have and will continue to frequent the bar, but I will be avoiding that one bartender from this point on.

Your local Brooklyn lesbian bar. The drinks are strong and not too pricey. The week day is a lot more laidback, more packed on the weekends. Entry fee isn’t the worst, roughly $10-20 slightly more exspensive for events. The space is a safe, sapphic place that feels welcoming.

bouncer accused my gf of her ID being fake bc her photo is bad (?? lmao it scanned in on his device bc it's a real freaking ID and then said he's rejecting her cus her photo is "dull" ?? like bruh) also told us the cover was $20 and we could pay w venmo but once inside we could only tap to pay and it came out to $24 ://

i've had an amazing time here and i've also had a so-so time, it really depends on the dj/host. the random str8 guys showing up (during packed events) and being weird is a thing, but gay guys do show up as well and chicks w/ their bfs so the crowd is "diverse" i guess. some bartenders are nice, others arent. it all depends on the night. overall a good time ... depending on the event

So, this is my 1st time coming to the bush for anything and probably my last. So, let's start at the karaoke.I came to see if this would be an enjoyable event and it wasn't per say. The bartender was very nice. I feel sorry I don't remember her name. But, the hosts 1 in particular seemed to be a little beyond tipsy and out of sorts. Very unprofessional. They didn't go in order for the karaoke list .They made us give them our songs on an iPhone. They selected which songs went next not the order on the phone. I was there for 2.5 hours and my song was never called. When I went to let them know I was going to leave one person said "oh you made that choice". It felt very clique like if you knew the host or come here often you were good but if you were new you were waiting if ever going to sing. They can forget about me coming there again. You would think as a person of color and LGBT there would be some respect across the board but still there is segregation even in a lesbian bar. I don't want to give 1 star to the bar the event Def a 2 star experience.
