The Dunhill Hotel

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! They charged my card $200 saying I smoked in my room. I DO NOT SMOKE. Did not even tell me I was being charged we had two separate employees confirm the room does not smell like smoke. The assistant general manager SOLE KEYES told me on the phone that she doesn’t not care about me as I am no longer a guest at the hotel. Mind you, I checked out an hour ago. I am currently in the lobby awaiting the police as they would not remove the charge smh .Natalie at the front desk was very rude annd sarcastic. Antagonized me instead of trying to assist. Also sink leaked, room smells like mildew not smoke ! Also , check out us at 11. A house keeper knock on my door 3 different times prior to 10:30 !they only received 1 star because I couldn’t give 0 😐 The location would have been ok but construction is going on can’t even walk on the sidewalk ! UPDATE: i am still going back and form via email with this hotel about a smoking charge. also multiple additional attempts of $50 were on my account from the hotel. once the police arrived, they also confirmed that there was no smoke smell in the room. this is ridiculous! CUSTOMER SERVICE TO BLACK PEOPLE IS 0/10 STARS!

My experience was terrible room was not clean. The front desk lady was very rude and did not care. Then I talk to the GENERAL MANAGER and she was just as rude. Mattress was dirty and it smell like mildew in there. 0/10 would not recommend I don’t know how there still open. Would not b returning here EVER

Stunning hotel, my room was spotless, housekeeper turned down my bed, set the lighting just right to come back to after a long day, left a little chocolate on the bed, which was a nice touch, whole vibe was welcoming and cozy. Amenities were plenty, makeup face towel, plenty of towels, makeup wipes, lotion, vanity kit, shampoo, coditioner, bodywash. Everything in the room is well thought out to ensure comfort and that you have everything needed. The staff are so helpful, so attentive, I ordered room service one night and was recommended menu items which were delicious, and my food came within 15 minutes. You can't beat the location, and if needed, parking is easy to get to. Looking forward to my next stay.

We had my sister's entire Bachelorette/Bridal Shower weekend at the Dunhill and they exceeded expectations! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, especially the penthouse! Every member of the staff was accommodating, eager to help, kind, and polite. We booked the Parlor room for the bridal shower and it was absolutely gorgeous. The lunch and service from the Asbury was fantastic. THANK YOU for making it a special weekend we will never forget!

I never give a poor review unless it is 100% warranted. This hotel left my wife and I stranded on Valentines Day because there had been an “issue when the ice storm came through”. Keep in mind it was 2 weeks prior to this. If we would’ve been notified in advance, this wouldn’t be an issue. We show up with no room available and no phone call or email to let us know. They offered absolutely 0 help in this situation. We had to gather our luggage and walk to another hotel (the traffic was at a standstill) to pay almost twice as much. We ultimately missed our concert and were told by the Asst GM that “There was nothing they could do”. Sure there is! Offer any solution besides NOTHING!

The Dunhill Hotel at 237 N Tryon St is one of those Uptown spots that instantly feels classic—like you stepped into a piece of old Charlotte that’s still standing strong. 🏙️🏨 ​ What I loved most was the lobby: they had really informative images hanging up, including a drawing of the building, which made it fun to actually learn the history while you’re just checking the place out. 🖼️📚 And the building itself has real story behind it—opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor and it’s still one of the standout historic hotels in the city. 🕰️✨

Had reservations a month in advance for Valentines weekend. Then on Tuesday they informed me that our reservations had been canceled because of a water main break. I understand things happen but they haven’t tried to accommodate us with a hotel with the same accommodations. The only two options were refund money or book in a Hotel with no accommodations. I think they could do a lot better trying to accommodate us with some other solutions

I hosted a luncheon for 22 folks at the Dunhill in Charlotte on February 6, 2026. The service and the food were excellent. The waitstaff of Sonia and Beth were especially helpful and responsive. Jordan Kayser. General manager, was easy to work with in pulling together a menu and seeing that we were properly accommodated in spite of a broken water pipe that significantly interrupted operations. All of my guests were very pleased with every detail. Highly recommended.

Good location in downtown Charlotte with comfortable rooms in this boutique hotel.

A very relaxing place to enjoy a cocktail while waiting for our spooky haunted tour of the town. So we got there a little early and had two cocktails before our tour. And funny now, we also enjoyed two following our tour. An interesting history and good cocktails. Really good cocktails. CritDicks
