The Historic Plains Hotel

And awesome historic hotel! We stayed one night. There is so much history here it was fun to walk around in. The main floor is beautiful. Staff member Liv gave great recommendations for things to do in the area. Connie who works at the bar was super friendly and fun to talk to. There is great music and pool tables at the bar. Would recommend to those looking for a fun hotel at a great price.

I loved staying here! Yes, it is the historic hotel and yes, you can definitely tell but beautifully designed and best location in Cheyenne. Wigwam bar was Open and the lady at the bar was absolutely fantastic. We got to try some awesome Jell-O shots that she made herself. We next time We’re in Cheyenne we will be back.

the young beautiful lady at the front desk (03/12/2026) was so nice and helpfull to me, I wish I could give her 10 star 🌟 for her kindness and her willingness to go above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Sory I didnt catch her name when I was checking out. she's the best 👌🏾 thank you again for ur kindness.

I was hoping for a pleasant stay but the smell of dog was through out the hall and really bad by one room where someone lives.I am allergic to dogs. So I had to buy allergy medicine to stay there. The room even smelled funky and windows was dirty inside and out. not a clean fresh smell. I know that it is an old hotel and that is the only thing I liked about the place oh and the front desk people was very nice.. the restaurant or bar wasn’t open but hoping for at least coffee down stairs in the morning. Maybe that’s only for the weekend. there isn’t no parking and they didn’t say where I could park so I was just hoping not to get a ticket. Just kept moving my car during the day. I don’t think I will be staying there again. But hey if you’re looking for a place to live with animals for 850 a month to start it’s the place for you. My one night there paid for one eight of a month there.

I'm insured what it takes to stay here for something more than a few nights, but I was staying nearby at the God awful, terrible nasty downtowner. Oh, the place is terrible, so I thought I'd give this a whirl. Uh, their parking lot is some blocks away. So you can't park in a car park in the shadow of the motel and Anyway, I provided like my blood types. O, it's a security number, passport image and other. Things to have the owner accept me. As a potential long-term tenant cuz, I work remote in energy, and I never heard back. I made repeated visits and walking from the downtowner to. Uh, the historic plains motel. It may not be a good place to stay because you're in the middle of high traffic area next to a couple of firehouses and a couple of police departments and so sirens are going all the time. Traffic is going all the time, and it's just not a very nice area to be in. And you think that north of hazeldell might be better, but you might have options there that cost a little bit more or about the same. That would be better except don't go to the travel odge. It's it's kinda terrible, but then all the motels in Cheyenne are terrible. Anyway, merry christmas, go trump twenty twenty eight and live long and prosper

This is a great hotel with an excellent location, great amenities and very cool historical significance. No the carpet is not new and the rooms are not perfectly updated but considering the price and what else it has to offer it definitely ranks 5 stars. I am very glad I stayed here and ignored the negative reviews that compare it to the cookie cutter hotels miles from town.

I absolutely highly recommend this BEAUTIFUL hotel. It is haunted but don't worry. The ghosts there are harmless. 😜 So c'mon to The Historic Plains Hotel!!!!

Firstly, the suite we booked (Room 444) looked only vaguely similar to the pictures on the website. The reality was shockingly different — dirty, run-down, and to put it mildly, more like a flop house than a hotel. I felt completely misled by the online photos and description. The carpet was filthy, stained, and worn through in places. The furniture looked like it had been salvaged from a dumpster — so grimy you wouldn’t want to sit on it. The bathroom was worse: blackened grout, a shower curtain you wouldn’t dare touch, and chipped, stained fixtures. Even the towels and bed linens were discolored and clearly past their prime. It was late and we were exhausted, so we stayed — but I instantly regretted it. The biggest mistake I made was smelling the pillow. I nearly retched. This place should be avoided at all costs. Read the reviews before booking — I wish I had. Save yourself the disappointment (and the Lysol) and stay somewhere else.
