Best Western Grant Park Hotel

This Best Western hotel is located on the edge of the loop, in a good location and well-connected, offering spacious, clean rooms. The positives stop there. The breakfast is embarrassing, with only one savory option, forcing you to eat eggs every day, only allowing you to vary the cooking method. You can definitely find better in the area.

Poor experience here. Interactions with staff were disappointing. The overall environment in the lobby was uninviting. The lobby staff was unwelcoming.

Beds are terribly uncomfortable, and the pillows they give you might as well be a sheet of paper towel because that's how thick they are.

There were big dead roaches in the lobby and roaches in the room. When asked for a refund only like 40 bucks was given back. Do better

I recently stayed here for 2 nights 3 days in total. I’ve booked and stayed in other best westerns in the area and never had a problem. But after my first night here I woke up and started getting ready when on the wall next to the bathroom a big roach was crawling on the wall. I was absolutely disgusted and to top it off I found another roach next to the door. The room was fine but the bathroom had a very bad moldy smell. After finding the roach the front desk workers didn’t act surprised when I told them and all they could do was move me to another room. The roaches completely ruined me and my sisters stay and it resulted in us not sleeping at all our second night there. Spending more than $400 and having this experience ruined the way I look at Best Western hotels. The only compensation I got was a $40 refund which didn’t even cover my first night. I will not be rebooking here and will stay at a different hotel if in the area again.

traveled to your hotel from May 11–14, 2026, while attending a legal conference, and I am extremely disappointed with the condition of the property and the level of customer service we received. Upon checking into our room, we immediately noticed the hotel appeared old and poorly maintained, with stained carpets and worn furnishings throughout. Unfortunately, the situation became worse once we entered our room. The pull-out bed had visible stains, and the sheets appeared dirty, making it obvious the room had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. When we brought these concerns to the front desk, the employee assisting us, Issac, was rude and dismissive. We were not offered another room, nor was there any meaningful discussion about resolving the issue. The response we received was simply an apology, as if this type of experience was normal and acceptable. To make matters more frustrating, communication with housekeeping was difficult because the staff did not speak English, which made it extremely hard to get assistance regarding the condition of the room. I travel frequently all over the world and have only seen conditions like this on television. I never imagined I would personally experience checking into a dirty room while paying over $200 per night, in addition to $58 per day for valet parking because there is no public parking available. The lack of concern and professionalism shown by the front desk staff speaks volumes about the culture of customer service at this hotel. Instead of attempting to correct an embarrassing situation, there was little to no effort made to accommodate us or restore confidence in our stay. This experience was unacceptable, and because of it, I will never return to this hotel nor recommend it to others.

Rooms were good a little small, had no issues until we saw a roach. After we saw one, three appeared. We went to tell the front desk people and they did not seem surprised they were rude and gave us another room. The new room had a weird smell in the bathroom and I could not sleep knowing the hotel was infested with roaches..

This hotel has not been maintained at all. Fresh linens came with stains. Bathroom has no exhaust fan, so the windows got soaked with condensation. The room smelled damp. The windows are so thin I genuinely thought one was open while listening to someone outside scream for 4 hours last night. Door also doesn’t sit flush in the frame. Possible mold in the bathroom.

My experience was very positive. From the start, check-in was quick and friendly. I also had no problems at check-out, which was very convenient as it only involved leaving the key card in a container. The room was spacious, comfortable, and noticeably clean. It had a small sitting area with a sofa, a coffee table, a safe, and a small refrigerator. Five of us stayed for four nights and five days as a family, and the stay was very pleasant. Every day, the staff cleaned the room, made the beds, and changed the towels without any issues. Furthermore, the staff was always attentive; even when we requested extra towels, they helped us very kindly. Another plus was that there were no problems ordering food through apps like Uber Eats, which made the stay even more convenient. The facilities in general were clean, and it was clear that the hotel had been recently renovated. The location is excellent. It's very close to several major Chicago tourist attractions, such as the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum, and the Adler Planetarium, all within walking distance. There are also many convenient options nearby, including an Eleven City Diner, Chipotle, a gas station, a supermarket, and even an Amazon Locker pickup point. Regarding breakfast, I didn't have it and didn't see any options at the hotel. They did offer promotions, like 10% discounts at some nearby restaurants (for example, Chinese food), but they didn't appeal to me, so I decided to go out and find more popular places on my own. The only minor issues were a bit of humidity in the bathroom, especially at the top, but it didn't affect our stay because we were only there for a short time. We also noticed that the shower curtain moved easily while bathing, so it would be advisable to make them a bit longer or heavier at the bottom to prevent them from opening. Overall, it's a highly recommended hotel, especially for family trips, due to its comfort, cleanliness, good service, and excellent location.
