R&R is generally cited as Denver's oldest gay bar, dating from the 1970s. It sits at 4958 East Colfax Avenue in Park Hill, well east of the Capitol Hill strip, and the Center on Colfax's history project includes it in its Lavender Hill exhibit.
It's a dive in the good sense: martinis, generous pours, pool, darts and games on the TVs, with a regular crowd and no dance floor. Google reviews average 4.6 from about 290. It opens at 3pm on weekdays and noon at weekends. The 15 bus runs along Colfax, but a rideshare is easier late at night.
