Very frustrating experience. We had purchased tickets in advance and still were denied entry because our seats were given away to a rush line before showtime. This policy was not clearly explained anywhere during purchase. Selling tickets without guaranteeing entry feels misleading. Attendees deserve clearer communication and better handling of situations like this.
I’ve experienced a lot of spaces where creativity shows up but the Miami Film Festival hits different. This isn’t just a film festival it’s a living, breathing ecosystem of storytellers, visionaries, and truth-tellers all stepping into alignment with their purpose. From the energy of the screenings to the conversations in the gatherings, everything feels intentional. You’re not just watching films you’re witnessing people walk in their calling. What stands out most is the diversity of voices (authentic Miami culture) and the level of authenticity. Independent creators are given a real platform here, and you can feel the respect for the craft. The panels, the networking, the overall flow it’s all designed for elevation, not just entertainment. For me, representing Felton Films, my experience isn't just about being present it's about recognizing that we’re all apart of a global movement of creators who are shaping culture, not chasing it. I would say If you’re serious about film, storytelling, and stepping into a higher level of creative expression, this is a space you need to be in all year long.
I watched the movie Malecón that was shown at the Silverspot location in downtown Miami. The movie itself was good but the event was poorly organized. Why open seating? Do you realize how frustrating is getting to the theater a few minutes after the movie started and not being able to find a seat because the event has open seating and the room is completely dark and you don’t find an open spot? I would not have open seating, unless you have someone with a flashlight assisting people who arrive after the movie started. This is something you should consider for future events which will make the experience smoother and more pleasant.
It's coming April 3-13. See you there.
