Top of the Rock Restaurant

Dress code is definitely not enforced. The service was great, the appetizers were good as well (get the chicken and doughnuts), the issue we had with the food was our entrees were less than impressive, they were just normal restaurant quality. If you have plenty of disposable income and don’t mind spending $100 per person for your night out, then it’s worth a try and I’ll likely be back myself. If $100/person isn’t something you do several times a month casually, then don’t come here. If I invited an average person here, I’d apologize to them and cover the bill. This is not up to the standards I have at this price bracket, and there are so many choices in the valley. Maybe a second chance with different entree choices will change my opinion.

My Husband and I had a wonderful experience last night at top of the rock. Food was delicious, wine was impeccable, and our server Nichole was pleasant and informative and catered to our every need. Rocky Mountain oysters were delicious Salads were fair My ravioli was delicious French all the way My Husband's citrus salmon was exactly why we go to five star restaurants on special occasions. And the desserts were delicious, all of them. We ordered every dessert and tried all of them.

Was our 10 year anniversary. The atmosphere is honestly great. The complementary was awesome, however everything else was pretty bad. I found a dirty fork in my seat. The shrimp was burnt and tasted sour. The filet was overcooked and had very little pink. My duck was a like rubbery. The dessert was strange and watery. Only reason it wasnt a 1 was the staff was great. We have some video of some of our experience if the staff would like to see feel free to reach out.

I ordered the demi chicken. My partner ordered the salmon. Both dishes were great. My chicken was a TAD bit too salty. But nothing to be disappointed in. The risotto was 10/10. We did share the coco bliss drink and WOW. We were so taken back by how amazing it was. Then the bread. Wow. That and the slept butter were so good. Service was great. Never left needing anything. Water was always refilled timely without asking. The views were impecable. We had the BEST seat at sunset. Far off and got to enjoy the sunset perfectly.

Unfortunately, the quality of this restaurant has declined. The entry garden from valet used to be full of well maintained gardens. At this visit, they were sparse and had dead plants. The entry to the restaurant used to have a stone floor. It's been replaced with boring, poorly maintained ceramic tile! The flooring in the dining room was just as bad and old. The wood laminate totally clashes with the design. This place has great architectural bones, but putting band aids on it over the years has ruined it. What happened to the tablecloths? Usually upscale restaurants have better chairs than bistro chairs. It feels more like a Cafe than a fine dining restaurant. Why put spotted water glasses on the tables? It looks gauche if you don't use stemware. The poor server had 7 tables to take care of. We felt that. The busboy talked so fast we never did understand what he said. The food was a big disappointment. We skipped an appetizer since NONE of them sounded good. Our salads were average at best. My food came out with the asparagus cold and my steak was barely medium rare when I ordered it medium well. They redid it, but the steak was still only medium. We were seated at 845PM. I guess they close at nine. At 815, we were told the kitchen closes at 930. What a letdown of an experience. The valet was nice and efficient.

Fabulous restaurant. Great food and service. The views are spectacular.

I had a disappointing experience during my visit, While walking inside, I accidentally hit my nose and forehead because of a poorly placed object or hazard that was difficult to notice. My nose immediately became swollen red and painful. I understand accidents can happen but I believe the restaurant should do a better job of keeping walkways safe and making potential hazards more visible. I hope management takes this seriously so other guests do not get injured the way I did, I was expecting more help from restaurant team while I hit my face
