Portland Regency Hotel & Spa

We were repeat customers to this hotel and the location is exceptional for The Old Port area and is why we choose to stay there again. However, our most recent experience was not the best. The AC in our room did not work, we were told someone would come fix it, after being told “that’s how it is” the first time and nothing was fixed when we returned. We had to ask for a fan. We paid over $440 a night, for two nights, to stay in a room with a fan (on the second night) and the windows open to the slight crack they lifted to. The shuttle is a nice amenity that we like to take advantage of to get to and from the airport. However, this time we reserved it in the morning for an evening flight and the shuttle was in use and unavailable by the time we had reserved it for our flight. We understand traffic is always a factor but expect the local hotel to have the foresight to accommodate for this. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We loved the idea of having 1 hotel for our future Portland trips, it seems we may have to review the options for our trip next year.

Service was not friendly, housekeeping was poor- your bed would only be made if you requested it the day before – really? Is this an Airbnb at $400 a night? But it does have a very good location- just a poor hotel manager

Last weekend I was in Portland for a bachelorette, and we booked a spa party at the Regency Spa. The manager, April, exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond for our party!!!!! ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!!!! Highly recommend! I had a deep tissue massage by Katrina which was AMAZING! Book your spa appointment there!!!! You won’t be disappointed.

We went to the Spa here for my bachelorette with a total of 6 women. To say the hospitality here is incredible doesnt even begin to describe what we experienced. April was so kind, accommodating, detail oriented and went above and beyond for our group. Our massages from Hannah, Katrina and Katherine were top notch. The best massage I have ever experienced. The facility is so pretty, well laid out and immaculate. Highly recommended. I would return to Portland just to go to the spa here.

Definitely not the vibe I was going for. Old but not in a charming way. Terrible noise coming from the AC or something in the wall. Was told they would address it and they never said another word about it or fixed it. Hours for bar and restaurant and everything are odd and every time we tried to go to one of them they were closed. Cleaning service didn’t come when we asked for service on our way out for the day. Came back at night to a dirty room. Bed and sheets were disappointing. Was, however, close to everything. Would not stay again.

Great location and well appointed room. However we would not stay here again. We stayed a night on a Saturday and we could not sleep until 2am. The junior suite was on the second floor and all night there was loud noise from people partying outside. The cheese place across the street seems to be where they all land at 1AM so it was basically then even more loud until it closed at 2am. My kids were asleep (or trying to) so I didn’t think to call the lobby but needless to say no one got much sleep. When asked how our stay was, I shared this and was told this is the price you pay for staying in the middle of Old Port. We have a place in Manhattan and are accustomed to busy cities. A place with this price tag should have better windows.

I have been a loyal guest of the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa for years, and the service is always top-notch. The accommodations are wonderful, and the spa services are truly incredible, which is why I continue to return. This past weekend, I accidentally left my diamond rings in my hotel room. Thankfully, Moira, the housekeeper, found them and immediately turned them in to the front desk. The team contacted me right away, and I was so relieved to know my rings were safe. I can't thank the entire Regency team enough for their honesty, integrity, and exceptional service. In a world where kindness means so much, this experience truly stood out. My heartfelt thanks to Moira for her honesty and to everyone at the front desk for acting so quickly. Your professionalism and compassion turned a very stressful situation into one I'll always remember with gratitude. Thank you for going above and beyond. This is just one more reason I'll continue choosing the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa. I look forward to staying with you again very soon!

great hotel, but tv sucks. like its a smart tv, but no netflix, hulu, disney, etc.

Well-located, but not the cleanest. Arrived with long brown hair in the shower and the lamp light bulb dead. Walls are thin, so sound will travel from other rooms. No parking on-site - valet is $40. Desk is kind and location is pretty central, though. Staff was accommodating for the issues.
