The Mission Theater is a McMenamins pub-theatre in Northwest Portland. The building started as a Swedish Evangelical mission and later served as a longshoremen's union hall. Today it shows second-run films and hosts concerts, talks and trivia, with McMenamins burgers, pub plates and house-brewed ales served to your seat. The ornate balcony has the best sightlines, and big windows light the main floor during the day. It's a mainstream, gay-friendly spot, not a gay venue, and a relaxed place for a cheap film with a beer. It's on NW Glisan Street, within walking distance of the Pearl District and Northwest 23rd. It is a beautiful venue with a good stage, audio was set up well and a small selection of food/beverages. This venue does get hot though they turn on fans.
