One of favorite places! We always stop by and see the gang we love ❤️ Martinis are WONDERFUL! Food is very tasty especially some mid day bites
I’ve been to Monkey Bar in Provincetown before and generally enjoyed the vibe, but my most recent visit left me pretty disappointed. We ordered two Casamigos Blanco with lime juice—shaken and served up in a martini glass. Nothing complicated, just a simple tequila cocktail. To my shock, the bill came to $73 for just two drinks. In the past, I’ve paid around $22 for similar martini-style cocktails here, so I questioned the price. Even the bartender seemed unsure and asked another bartender to confirm. When I asked directly about the cost, his response was, “I don’t make the prices, I just serve the drinks.” Not exactly the kind of service or transparency you’d hope for when you’re suddenly paying nearly $37 per cocktail. I understand prices can change, especially in a seasonal town, but there was no menu shown, no heads-up, and no breakdown on the receipt to justify the steep cost. At the very least, customers deserve clarity on what they’re being charged for—especially when prices are that inflated. I used to recommend Monkey Bar, but after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll be back.
$72 for Two Drinks?! Never Again. I went to Monkey Bar expecting a fun night, but instead left feeling ripped off. I ordered two Casamigos drinks—up with lime, nothing fancy—and they charged $36 each. That’s $72 for two cocktails that weren’t even exceptional. The drinks were fine, but absolutely not worth the absurd price. No warning, no menu price shown, just a jaw-dropping bill at the end. For that money, I could have had an entire bottle of Casamigos and still had change left over. I’ve been to upscale bars all over the world, and I’ve never seen pricing this outrageous for such a basic drink. The ritz in Paris isn’t this expensive. If you enjoy overpaying for average cocktails, this is your place. Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere that respects their customers. ⭐☆☆☆☆ — Would give zero stars if I could.
Came here as they serve Thai food and a couple things on the menu are stated to be gluten free. Ordered an Thai Ice Tea ($10) and a Mango Smoothie ($14). No prices on the menu for drinks by the way. I asked the waiter for gluten free options as I have an allergy. I believe his name was Dan? He pointed out what is good and I ordered the Coconut Thai Curry with tofu. The waiter assured me it was gluten free and the tofu was plain, not fried. When it arrived I knew he was wrong. There was a black hair on one piece and I pulled it out and found the tofu had been fried. I asked if it had been fried in a separate fryer to which he responded it was pan seared. Now if I was gullible, I would’ve believed him but I pushed back and asked if he could check with the kitchen. He came back out, apologizing. It was fried with gluten. I almost was poisoned because of his and the kitchen’s carlessness. He asked if I wanted to order anything else. After betraying my trust and trying to lie to me? No. My boyfriend and I both lost our appetites. They did nothing else to try and make it right. Shady place. Don’t come here if you have an allergy. I’m sure they don’t know this (or care) but if a person has a gluten allergy, enough exposure can make someone have an allergic reaction. Long-term gluten exposure increases your likeliness of developing cancer. It is 2025. Gluten free is not a fad. Some people are seriously affected. Do better. This all cost us $79.53 as my boyfriend got one entree ($29.99) and one appetizer ($19.99). He threw out the entree as he felt so guilty I couldn’t eat anything with him. What a waste.
